My grandparents lived by the salty sea
My family would visit every Sunday
A trip backwards to a simpler time
To a sea worn house full of nostalgia
My brother's and I would explore the house
Seeking treasures - a child's adventure
Nana played her old songs on piano
While Papa told old bootlegging stories
It's a time I miss
But I miss them more...
and I will always
Think of those simple times
When ever I visit the sea shore

Thank you for your visit, most appreciated!
A rocky seashore view from Lauttasaari, Helsinki. Taken some half an hour after sunset on a nice and cool April evening.
Taken along with where the Portland Head Light was, see below
Also, you'd see many tiny people there when enlarging the view. :-)
... even if you are a wild horse along the dunes of the Maryland shore.
Captured hand held at the higher ISO in the post sunset light.
The pier is the transition between land and sea .. the border between confusion and contemplation

The Dutch coast has no natural rocks, just sandy beaches as far as the eye can reach. Nevertheless, one can find some artificial rocks as here at the entrance of Scheveningen harbor. These rocks are overgrown with animals and plants typical for such substrates. Seeing these rocks and kind of life gives me always the feeling of being back in primeval times when all live was restricted to the sea. This feeling I wanted to accentuate with this small depth of field image. It is a close-up view with a low PoV
Happy Monochrome Bokeh THursday! HMBT!
Decades of overbuilding have produced extensive and heterogeneous urban areas facing some of the most beautiful Italian beaches.
Even in the event of abuse, the repeated amnesties have regularized the buildings for passing on to future generations.
The buildings, different for structure, materials and colors, have gradually accumulated alongside each other in unlikely and fascinating aggregates, constituting a self-contained universe with strong aesthetic and poetic overtones enhanced by the coastal location.
