I have often asked myself weather sunsets have brothers or sisters, and knowing that sunrise is actually Sunset's brother, I, for my entire life searched for it's sisters.

And than it happened the other day. Climbing a small grassy hill in the most beloved part of the world, my Homeland, I came about what I was searching for. Sunset sisters were there talking to the Sun in a way lovers talk to each other.

Now I have to find out about who is it's Mother...b.mikic

My one minute poetry/prose continues...

Was able to watch this Horned Lark for some time. With every movement I made it would go to the highest snow, search around and then back to foraging in the Parking Lot. (Bronte Creek Provincial Park)

The Grey Forest....

The first really warm day in nearly five months found us traversing the back woods in search of some wonderful spring shots. in the north end of White Spruce Park we found this grey bleak tree section where the winter had just given way to spring and it looks as though there was no life left in the trees. .

Although I like the previous image more, this one still has quite a lot of merit to it. I like the wave covering the entire bottom 3rd of the frame, as well as the bird naturally in the top left corner. The wings were clipped in other images in the series but are intact here, not to mention the legs kicking the water.

Been focused on other projects but will probably return and search for more White-eyed gulls soon.

In Search of Easter Eggs – Karlovac ✨

I took a stroll through the city moat ("Šanac") next to the promenade in Karlovac in search of some holiday magic, and I’ve put together an album of about 20 photos for you! This is part of a fantastic project created in collaboration between the Karlovac Tourist Board and ULAK (Association of Fine Artists of Karlovac). Local artists have hand-painted these large Easter eggs, which stand at 1.70 m tall. Each one is a unique work of art, skillfully showcasing the most beautiful and recognizable motifs of our city – from our four rivers and the old town of Dubovac, all the way to blooming magnolias.For a bit of trivia: this tradition of placing large Easter eggs in the Šanac park started back in 2019, while our local artists from ULAK began painting them in this specific style in 2021. This year, a total of 12 eggs have been placed in the park, and it was a real joy searching for them and capturing them with my lens!For starters, I’m showing you just two photos from that big collection. The first one is dominated by beautiful magnolias and deep blue tones, while the second proudly displays our Dubovac castle tower and a mystical mermaid.How do you like these motifs? Prošetao sam karlovačkim šancem pored promenade u potrazi za blagdanskom čarolijom i pripremio vam album od oko 20 fotografija! Riječ je o sjajnom projektu nastalom u suradnji Turističke zajednice grada Karlovca i ULAK-a (Udruga likovnih autora Karlovac). Karlovački su umjetnici ručno oslikali ove velike pisanice, visoke čak 1.70m, a svaka od njih je unikatno umjetničko djelo. Na njima su vješto prikazani najljepši i najprepoznatljiviji motivi našega grada – od naših rijeka, starog grada Dubovca, pa sve do rascvjetalih magnolija.Inače, ova tradicija postavljanja velikih pisanica na Šancu započela je još 2019. godine, dok su ih naši lokalni umjetnici iz ULAK-a u ovom obliku počeli oslikavati 2021. godine. Ove godine ih je u parku postavljeno ukupno 12 i prava je uživancija bila tražiti ih i hvatati objektivom!Ovdje vam za prvu ruku prikazujem samo dvije fotkice iz te velike kolekcije. A perspective of the front of the Council House, from Smithy Row, just off Old Market Square, Nottingham.

Uncovered in the mid 1800's, during the creation of a sewage system for the city, Smithy Row was originally the location of the medieaval city's blacksmiths forges.

Taken with a Nikon D40, fitted with a Nikkor AFS DX 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
