The gulls obviously understand the convenience of the takeaway concept.

It is interesting to watch how he forages for food and thrusts its bill down to snatch the prey when sighted..

This young gull is holding a European Green Crab in his mouth.

This crab is an invasive species to the west coast of Canada. The crabs are known to devour native species and destroy habitat.

Yet, it made for a great meal for this happy gull.

With so much coastline and clean seas around Croatia, seafood dominates the menus. We saw abundant marine life even in the busy harbour, an encouraging sign..

Lots of excellent restaurants along this street in Dubrovnik. The outdoor dining experience is lovely in the evening and not often repeatable in the UK.

A couple enjoying a seafood platter in St. Josef's Market, Barcelona.

A crow plucks a shrimp from the foreshore at low tide between Minehead and Dunster with waves crashing behind it in the background. Crows are not normally associated with being a marine bird however they were nearly as numerous as the oyster catchers on the foreshore on this particular day.

During a long fascinating uphill walk through Montmartre that begins at the Moulin Rouges and ends at Sacré-Cœur, here where Rue Lepic meets Rue des Abbesses is a great first stop for sidewalk seafood. That is unless you had already stopped at the nearby Café des Deux Moulins.

I had a few thoughts for this week for the Macro Mondays theme of "Stick" but here I have decided to go with my first thought of "Seafood Sticks" which is how it appears on the packaging but they can also be called "Crab Sticks" or "Ocean Sticks" but I guess that's irrelevant as long as they are sticks.

I could have presented them as they are but always one to enjoy eating my subject after photographing it I placed them on some salad and drizzled some Balsamic Dressing all over and sprinkled them with Black Pepper for added visual and taste effect.
