THE KRAKEN... is a legendary sea monster of large proportions that is said to dwell off the coasts of Norway and Greenland. The legend may have originated from sightings of giant Octopus that are estimated to grow to 9-11 metres (30–40 feet) in length, including the tentacles. The sheer size and fearsome appearance attributed to the Kraken have made it a common ocean-dwelling monster in various fictional works.
I took these photos kinda late in the afternoon so they're not really great. I had to clean up a lot of noise on them. I'll get some better photos of her later, but some from the shoot yesterday came out well enough that I could salvage them.
I found this on my recent trip to the beach - a giant tree washed ashore looking just like a monster.
The beach was covered in driftwood but this was by far the most impressive :-)
Taken on Himatangi beach, Manawatu, NZ.
This is my closest beach - about 35min from the town I live. The beaches along this stretch of coast are not very exciting, but I have to make do with them until I can go on holiday somewhere with better (i.e. rocky) beaches. With interesting shells.

I did not bother to check out the buildings as it was very icy.
I love the creativity that went into the sign, I saw no sea monsters in the area.

Bosun Robert Logan cursed with the rest of the crew of the "Sirens Lament". once a fearsome bareknuckle fighter his fists are now powerful claws and his mouth a tentacled beak. His fearsome temper is now even more out of control - he hates seafood!

Sea Monster II. The second sighting.
Here is the wider, darker shot. Thank you all so much for your feedback on the previous image if this lighthouse. Again, this image is trying to emphasise the abstract ‘sea monster’ that I envisaged during my time there. Someone said it reminded them of a War of the Worlds creature and I have to agree!
This shot was taken at a very low perspective (almost eating sand) to ensure it looks like the ‘monster’ is standing on top of the water.
Like the three others that invited me along that day, I decided to wait a while before posting this one. The idea of mulling over for a few days seemed appropriate to edit anything I wasn’t happy with. The time hopefully improves the image because I can make small changes across days rather than make all of them in one go. Looking at the ‘history’ section of this file, it is very different from the initial point where I left it saying “I’m happy with that”.
Although I won’t take this long over every image, there are some, which need digital dodging and burning to achieve the effect, that I’m sure would benefit from extra time and attention. It’s so tempting just to post though isn’t it?
Hopefully the next upload will be of an industrial scene at night – I’ve wanted to shoot this place for ages (lots of driving and unsuccessful attempts) and the conditions appear to be right this weekend. Fingers crossed.

This was my entry to Brickvention 2016, my first time making water effects, grasses and the first time making a large organic creature! I have little to no experience in any of these things, and for a first attempt, I think I did pretty well!

Additional Comments: I loved toying with the fishermen in this scenario, having the man caught with one hand at one time, and by his leg this time.
WuWai and the Seamonster at Innsmouth.

From the notes by the creators:
...
The sim is loosely based on the mythos created by American horror writer H.P. Lovecraft, particularly the locales in "The Shadow over Innsmouth" and "The Colour Out of Space". You'll be exploring a coastal town in Massachusetts, 1930. The sim is meant to be beautiful and mysterious and a bit lonely. If you choose to roleplay here, keep in mind that many vistors will be tourists, and not neccessarily roleplaying with you.

From "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" by H.P. Lovecraft:
"It was a town of wide extent and dense construction, yet one with a portentous dearth of visible life. From the tangle of chimney-pots scarcely a wisp of smoke came, and the three tall steeples loomed stark and unpainted against the seaward horizon. One of them was crumbling down at the top, and in that and another there were only black gaping holes where clock-dials should have been. The vast huddle of sagging gambrel roofs and peaked gables conveyed with offensive clearness the idea of wormy decay, and as we approached along the now descending road I could see that many roofs had wholly caved in. There were some large square Georgian houses, too, with hipped roofs, cupolas, and railed "widow's walks". These were mostly well back from the water, and one or two seemed to be in moderately sound condition....
...far out to sea, despite a high tide, I glimpsed a long, black line scarcely rising above the water yet carrying a suggestion of odd latent malignancy. This, I knew, must be Devil's Reef. „

Scarah, Robecca and Lagoona are here to wish you a very merry Christmas and happy holiday season this year! Stay safe everyone!
On a side note, Christmas is supposed to be about giving, right, and yet everyone always asks you what you got. For the past few years, I've been trying to start a trend where I ask people what they gave others for Christmas rather than what they were given. I implore you to give it a try this Christmas!
I'll start: I am giving my mother a print of this photo and my dad some Hobbit movie collectors NZ stamps. We're giving the older two girls the MLP Wedding Castle set with Shining Armor and Princess Cadance. I'm not sure what I'm going to give my wife yet ~ possibly a book shelf.
