Nestled peacefully among ordinary buildings, the little shop stands out not for secrecy, but for its quiet charm and whimsical glow. Inside, a soft golden light fills the space, where glowing jars, enchanted herbs, and whispering plants line the wooden shelves. Mischievous gnomes scurry between potted fungi and magical trinkets, while delicate fairies hover above flowers that shift colors with the emotions in the room. The air carries the scent of wild mint and sweet honey, wrapping each visitor in a sense of wonder. Though not hidden, the shop feels like a gentle breach into another world—a place where magic breathes softly and dreams come to life. (Enchanted Fantasy, from Richard de Grataine)

Cali is watching chipmunks scurry around outside on the patio. They like to get in the flower pots I have out there and it is quite entertaining to the cats to watch them. Happy Caturday!
Eastbound pigs scurry east on what Montanan's call the Hi-Line - the former GN main across the northern tier of the state. A 2022 Google maps pic shows these two vaders are still there.
Shorebirds are definitely not my forte for IDing.... I'm going to say this is a Least Sandpiper but please correct me if I'm wrong!!
A Black Turnstone scurries along the shoreline turning over all the rocks in its path looking for tasty morsels under them.

These Coucals are very common and often sighted scurrying into the bush in the countryside. However, sighting 3 of them together in one day is uncommon, that too in an open field unmindful of human presence. The birds were digging up the freshly dug up ground for insects and were busy. This one ventured pretty close and we took photos from inside the vehicle.
These are a kind of non-parasitic cuckoo's and weak fliers preferring short distance flying from bush to bush. They eat insects, bugs and I had sighted them several times raiding nests to eat eggs. Not sure if they eat small chicks, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Many thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
I have ideas around people scurrying to get places in a hurry, maybe a series. Moreover, curiosities on how well received this image will be in the Flickrverse compared to other outlets.
Enjoy and stay tuned.
Another insect type mech/drone, Scurry, scurry, pew, pew.
Pretty much keeping in the theme of these.

We surprised this cutie on the trail into this wilderness area northeast of Halifax. It moved off the trail, but didn't scurry away, it let me zoom in for a nice portrait. I didn't need to ask it to smile, as it already was doing so...

Arachtober 21 #2 - She scurried along her web to this leaf, and rested there upside down as seen in this picture. I don't know why, but if anyone has an idea about her behavior, I'd love to hear about it.
You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn
'til one by one, they were gone
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, "Something's out there"
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by
99 red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's red alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine, it springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
As 99 red balloons go by
99 Decision Street
99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super-scurry
Call out the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it, boys, this is war
The president is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by
99 knights of the air
Ride super high-tech jet fighters
Everyone's a super hero
Everyone's a Captain Kirk
With orders to identify
To clarify and classify
Scramble in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by
99 red balloons go by
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standin' pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here...
And here is, a red balloon
I think of you and let it go
These birds are so much fun to watch as they scurry along the beach, dodging the incoming surf. Assateague Island National Seashore.
These colorful crabs are 10-12 inches across, and they scurry everywhere on these rocks and into their crevices. The adults are the colorful ones--- juveniles are dark colored and blend into the surrounding rocks.
This one was seen on the Island of Santa Cruz, Galapagos Islands, but they were rather widespread throughout the islands we visited.
We were fortunate to be able to travel once more, and this was a huge bucket list trip--- Peru and Ecuador, with highlights of visits to the rainforest, Machu Picchu, and the Galapagos Islands. Lots more photos to come in the upcoming weeks.....

This particualr warbler was scurrying about along the logs and branches by the side of the river. She didn't seem to mind me too much and came quite close, but didn't stop for long to have her picture taken.

We were walking along a trail near the Oregon Coast toward the Giant Spruce (which I'll eventually post a picture of). The ground was blanketed with this magical, vibrant green plant. It's like a jungle for the little critters that scurry along the ground. :)
Dragon Lizard that scurried under my feet & then froze ... the dogs didn't see it😀Brian & Kahn taking no notice of the lizard right in the centre!

A "scurry" of Eastern Gray squirrels. Or a "dray", though not sure that only three could be considered a group. Thank you for taking time from your busy day to view, fave and comment on my images. It is always appreciated.

Usually Killdeer scurry away, but this one must be a juvenile because he just posed for me. I was able to get a full frame shot!

Such a beautiful and clear morning. Little crabs were scurrying under foot as I walked through the grass, retreating to little holes they had dug in the sand.
I had blended this image by hand but it still needed more contast somehow. Ran the RAWs through HDR software to make a fuzzy HDR I could apply over my image as you would the blured image for orton effect. Overlay below horizon, multiply above.
Fuzzy HDR:
Compression: Max
Contrast: Min
Smoothing: Max
Gamma/Brightness: very bright
This little robot scurried around, finding morsels of detritus to fuel itself. Nobody knew quite what its function was.
Everybody called the robot"Achilles", as its rear, right foot had missed the painting process at the factory.
There are more pictures of Achilles on Instagram.
There were lots of happy accidents in the building of this little robot.
I've been messing around with these Technic panels in real life and LDD for a few months and his head just appeared.
Also, Achilles ended up with a grey rear foot because I only own three lime green ones and that's how he got his name.

They climbed up the hill
farther away from their house,
scurrying up the jungle path
like a small mouse :-)
"I'm tired," panted the little brother
and plonked himself on a rock.
Patting his head said the big sister,
"Even big ships need to dock!"
Suddenly the fog thickened
driving out all light.
And the duo ran further uphill
in intense fright :-(

I was out cycling yesterday when a female Weasel scurried across the road about fifty metres ahead and vanished into the thick grass on the road verge. I continued to the spot, got my camera ready, then made a squeaking noise. To my surprise she appeared and stood tall to see what was making the noise, then promptly disappeared back into the tall grass. Sometimes squeaking works, and sometimes it doesn't, but when it does work, the Weasel soon realises it's not a vole and loses interest. Even though I'm out every day I don't see Weasels or Stoats very often, and rarely do I get chance to point a camera at them. And this is the first time I have managed to capture a Weasel standing on its hind legs, though I did manage a Stoat once: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/51973886260/in/photolist
Weasels and Stoats can be tricky to tell apart, but Stoats are a bit bigger and have a longer tail with a black tip. But when you cannot see the tail, Weasels have an irregular interface between the brown and the white on the neck. In both Weasels and Stoats males are noticeably bigger than females, which is how I recognised my tiny Weasel as a female. Here's a Stoat showing a straight border between the brown and the white, and a black tipped tail: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/46834513515/in/photolist and here's a Weasel showing the irregular border: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/53147158927/in/photolist
There’s a lot of verticality in Hong Kong. Already huffing and puffing my way up another set of stairs, I stopped halfway to take in the tower that looked down at us. I imagined how small we looked to the people living towards the top.

I know, I know. Hong Kong, again! I’m not wealthy- I just keep spending all my money on going there. I don’t think they say ‘Fourth Times the Charm’ but this trip was just that - a success. For almost the entire time I kept my mental health issues at bay. It was a good trip. After three disasters - It is really nice to say that.
I couldn't resist this cute little chipmunk scurrying around gathering the sunflower seeds. Luckily he stopped long enough to eat one too! One of those rare occasions I could actually snap a shot! St Elmo, Colorado.
I made it through the hurricane just fine, it was a long and violent one, until you are in it, you don't realize how relentless they are and this one was so big and long, it was over me for 24 hours.. Needless to say I don't care to do that one over! I want to thank you all for your prayers and concern.
Have a wonderful week ahead!

I watched this American Stoat scurry around like a ball of rubber bands in the snow. It would go in and out of snowy tunnels and pop up hundreds of feet away. In this picture it had just pulled a large chunk of frozen flesh off a deer carcass in NE Minnesota.
The chipmunks scurry back and forth from the different Goodie Bowls to their holes, back and forth fast as lightening. Every once in a while they pause mid way to make sure the coast is clear. There's nothing like a pesky squirrel at the Goodie Bowl to put a halt to a well planned grocery run!

I took this photo a few years ago while driving back one morning from shooting at the coast. It had been raining the night before and once the sun started to warm things up a thin layer of fog developed. I was driving down skyline in the fog when I turned the corner to see this. I stopped the car in the middle of the road, scurried for my camera and got this shot before someone else might come around the corner and slam into me.
On the overcast morning of August 2, 2023 Montana Rail Link’s 844 Logan Local is underway as they scurry their way west on MRL’s 5th Sub. Currently seen on the approach to the town of Three Forks MRL 406 and 405 make light work of the 11 cars on the drawbar, soon the local would stop and pick up a cut of cars in Three Forks before continuing onto Sappington.
