Meine erste Foto-Einzelausstellung präsentiert im Café Berio, Berlin

In meiner ersten Foto-Einzelausstellung zeigte ich meine Berliner Portraits und einige meiner Vogel-Fotografien; daher der Titel der Ausstellung. In meinem Fotoprojekt wollte ich einmal weg von den sonst bewusst gewählten Orten, an denen man ein Fotoshooting durchführt. Ein Studio oder eine ausgewählte Location haben für die Menschen meist etwas sehr Unpersönliches. Ich wollte dorthin, wo es am authentischsten ist; an die Orte, an denen die Protagonisten (überwiegend Künstler) zu Hause und in ihrem Element sind: auf der Bühne, hinter der Bühne und vor, während und nach einem Auftritt bzw. Event. Ich möchte dem Betrachter Bilder zeigen, die er nicht unbedingt während einer Veranstaltung wahrnimmt und Außenstehende gefangen nehmen, als hätten sie es live miterlebt.
Über 70 Arbeiten präsentierte ich in der Ausstellung; darunter Portraits von Romy Haag, Henry de Winter, Hanna Schygulla, Georgette Dee, Dieter Rita Scholl, Gloria Viagra, Ades Zabel, Frank Wilde, Gaby Tupper und vielen anderen.
Vögel leben auf allen Kontinenten. Sie sind flüchtige, scheue Tiere. Auf meinen Fotografien lassen sie aber eine unwahrscheinliche Nähe zu. Das eigentlich Fremde und in der Natur nicht Sichtbare habe ich in meinen Vogel-Portraits festgehalten.
Mein Motto: "Authentizität ist das Schlüsselwort, das hinter meiner Fotografie steht. Ich ziehe es vor, mehr die menschliche Note zu zeigen und weniger die Retusche."
Die meisten der Exponate sind in der queeren Community entstanden.

In my first solo photo exhibition, I showed my Berlin portraits and some of my bird photographs; hence the title of the exhibition. In my photo project, I wanted to get away from the usual deliberately chosen locations for a photo shoot. There is usually something very impersonal about a studio or a selected location for people. I wanted to go where it is most authentic; to the places where the protagonists (mostly artists) are at home and in their element: on stage, backstage and before, during and after a performance or event. I want to show the viewer images that they don't necessarily see during an event and capture outsiders as if they had witnessed it live.
I presented over 70 works in the exhibition, including portraits of Romy Haag, Henry de Winter, Hanna Schygulla, Georgette Dee, Dieter Rita Scholl, Gloria Viagra, Ades Zabel, Frank Wilde, Gaby Tupper and many others.
Birds live on every continent. They are elusive, shy animals. In my photographs, however, they allow an improbable closeness. I have captured what is actually alien and invisible in nature in my bird portraits.
My motto: "Authenticity is the keyword that lies behind my photography. I prefer to show more the human touch and less the retouch."
Most of the exhibits were created in the queer community.

The Israel Museum in Jerusalem houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. They were discovered between 1947 and 1979 in 11 caves near the Dead Sea. The scrolls are of great historical significance, because it is the only surviving copy of Biblical documents made before 100 AD. More info or View LARGE
Cake made for gorgeous friends who were married on 5th May on the stunning Noosa Beach. Reception held at the River Lounge at the Noosa Sheraton.
It was such a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time.
A small cake - 8 inch and 6 inch tiers. Bottom tier chocolate cherry ripe mudcake, coated in dark chocolate ganache and the top tier white chocolate and Baileys liqueur coated in white chocolate ganache.
Covered in ivory Satin Ice fondant (I am in love with Satin Ice - particularly the red - absolutely fantastic). Red and ivory ribbon roses - ivory ones dusted with a mixture of champagne and oyster lustre dust.

Florence City Cemetery

We are going to have a scavenger hunt, but not just any scavenger hunt...this one will take place in a cemetery/graveyard!
Here are the rules for this month:
All photos must be taken on the same day (Between Oct 01- Oct 28) in a single cemetery of your choosing.
No recycled photos allowed.
Some subjects require more than one shot, you may collage them or post individually, whichever you prefer.
If you find all of the objects on the list, you will have 31 photos.

The Dead Sea scrolls consist of roughly 900 documents, including texts from the Hebrew Bible, discovered between 1956 and 1979 in eleven caves in and around the Wadi Qumran. The texts are of great religious and historical significance, as they include practically the only known surviving copies of Biblical documents made before 100 AD.

Vernissage der ersten gemeinsamen Ausstellung von Ali Görmez (50 FACES & MORE) und Wolfgang Brückner (STRUKTUR-
FORSCHER) im Waldorf Astoria Berlin (19. Etage) - 27. März 2015

Ob im Fahrstuhl, auf der Straße, im Büro oder auf Veranstaltungen. Gesichter sind allerorts. Überall treffen wir auf sie und beginnen sie in unterschiedliche Situationen einzuordnen, Mimiken zu deuten und zu verstehen. In Gesichtern finden wir unser Verständnis, unsere Zugehörigkeit, unsere Abneigungen und eigene Tiefen.
Auch Pop Art Künstler Ali Görmez liebt Gesichter. Dabei geht es nicht um das Einschätzen und Zuordnen von Schönheit. Denn der Künstler weiß, dass sich Gesichter schnell verstellen können, um sich unverwundbar, stark oder kompetent zu zeigen. Er weiß auch, dass das, was vielleicht im ersten Moment gelingen mag, auf den zweiten verblasst.
Für Ali Görmez sind Gesichter Geschichten und Emotionen. Emotionen, in die er eintauchen möchte. Dabei sucht der Künstler die Tür, um hinter die Fassade blicken zu können, um die Geschichte und das Erlebte zu lesen und den Umgang mit diesem zu verstehen.

Ausgangspunkt für das Projekt STRUKTURFORSCHER war u.a. die Beobachtung, dass die Identität und Besonderheiten der Lage von Gebäuden und Wohnanlagen meist in den Innenräumen schlagartig verschwindet. Selbst große prunkvolle Bauwerke verlieren in ihren Innenräumen schnell an Ausstrahlung. Und wenn Kunst Teil der Inneneinrichtung ist, hat sie selten einen logischen Zusammenhang mit den Gebäuden und der Umgebung. Wolfgang Brückners Bilder schaffen einerseits eine Identifikation und „Verbrüderung“ mit dem jeweiligen Gebäude, anderseits auch „Traum-Fenster“ in die nähere Umgebung, die eigentlich das zeigen, was z. B. hinter den Mauern zu sehen wäre, wenn der Architekt ein Fenster in eine erweiterte Wahrnehmung hätte bauen können.

Whether in the elevator, on the street, in the office or at events. Faces are everywhere. We encounter them everywhere and begin to categorize them in different situations, to interpret and understand facial expressions. In faces we find our understanding, our affiliation, our dislikes and our own depths.
Pop artist Ali Görmez also loves faces. But it is not about assessing and classifying beauty. The artist knows that faces can quickly disguise themselves in order to appear invulnerable, strong or competent. He also knows that what may be successful at first glance fades the second time around.
For Ali Görmez, faces are stories and emotions. Emotions that he wants to immerse himself in. In doing so, the artist seeks the door to be able to look behind the façade, to read the story and the experience and to understand how to deal with it.

One of the starting points for the STRUKTURFORSCHER project was the observation that the identity and special features of the location of buildings and residential complexes usually disappear abruptly in the interiors. Even large, magnificent buildings quickly lose their charisma in their interiors.And when art is part of the interior design, it rarely has a logical connection with the buildings and their surroundings.Wolfgang Brückner's pictures create an identification and "fraternization" with the respective building on the one hand, but also "dream windows" into the immediate surroundings on the other, which actually show what could be seen behind the walls, for example, if the architect had been able to build a window into an expanded perception.
