The sight of sheep grazing on a hillside brings a sense of well-being to the most troubled heart. Perhaps it is because of the symbolism the image carries -- helpless, defenseless creatures able to munch contentedly under the watchful eye of the one they have learned to trust.
Jesus called His followers sheep, and as His sheep we long to comprehend what it means to find contentment under the watchful eye of our loving, trustworthy, heavenly shepherd.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. --Psalm 23:1-2

I shot this at the train station before leaving Valley Forge. I was almost certain that Jesus has been in Kutztown for the last two years, I'll have to talk to him about this...

The picture is from October of 1970, my senior year of high school, shooting with my brand-spankin' new Minolta SRT-101. Somehow a few of my slides from that time have survived in pretty good shape. Reading Psalm 1 I kept coming back to this one in my mind. The scripture is timeless, the picture is only 40 years old. God is good!
This is my title page for Patter's Scripture Challenge. I used my new Storybook Cricut cartridge for the title and the flower.
