A good friend of mine is in need:
“Gauchomiller” needs something. For almost 45 years, he has been using an AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY, New Testament and Psalms, SERIES 393-395, #???,000- 666,000 QB 12. (SOFT COVER-NOT HARD) but at this point that will work. This has to be the worlds best preaching Bible. It is indestructible. It has thick pages that can be “hit” without ripping. You can use a magic marker and it will not fade through. Bang it. Throw it. Drop it. Wave it over your head. It is immortal. And has GIANT PRINT.
My last soul survivor is dying. ( I had 4, but marked them from cover to cover and gave them to new believers).
My preaching days are far from over and I need to replace this marvel of God’s word.
If any of you can locate such a New Testament……new, used, Old Book Store……..I will pay up to $50 per copy. That is how much I treasure this edition. *The last copy I found was at the ABS office on Tucuman Street, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, of all places. I gave a Methodist minister my brand new in the box, $75.00 Scofield for the one that I use now.

An interesting cross. Starting at the bottom, you have Jacob wrestling with "the Devil" (in quotes because most modern scholarship doesn't believe this figure to be the Devil but God Himself, perhaps a preincarnate Christ). Go one up and you have Paul and Timothy talking. One more is Christ as Judge, accompanied by two angels harkeening the end of the world. The very top two symbols are ancient symbols for faith. On the left of the bar is David. The right bar is Daniel in the Lion's Den.

The Leshan Giant Buddha ( Chinese: 乐山大佛) was built during the Tang Dynasty. It is carved out of a cliff face that lies at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu and Qingyi rivers in the southern part of Sichuan province in China, near the city of Leshan. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below his feet. It is the largest stone Buddha in the world and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. And surrounding the Buddha are many Buddhist temples including the Lingbao Temple.
We found these pages stuffed into cracks in the the face of the mountains, in villages around Skardu (which is in the utmost north of Pakistan)
I'm not sure why the pages were placed there. We hypothesized that it was perhaps a respectful or traditional way of disposing of old or damaged copies of the Quran. In Karachi I know that people often throw them into the sea.
We also hypothesized that it could be a means of making a religious plea, or prayer.
Either could be wrong of course.
