The Kuthodaw Pagoda or Maha Lawka Marazein Paya (Royal Merit Pagoda) was built by King Mindon Min (reigned 1852-1878). He was concerned about the invading British and what their presence in Burma would mean for Buddhist teachings and had the entire 15 books of the Tripitaka, the sacred scriptures of Theravada Buddhism, inscribed in gold on huge marble tablets.

When we value God's Loving Kindness more than life here on earth we realize that all of this is temporary and our spirit life is this! God's Loving Kindness!!! It is with holy joy that we are able to continually praise God with a cheerful heart and joyful lips. Praising lips MUST be joyful lips. It is comforting, in our darkest days to have thoughts of God and all that he has created and provided for us. His mercies are new each morning. How happy the day when we awaken to his Loving Kindness in His presence, where there is no night, no sorrow and joyful praise continually on our lips! Thank You JESUS!

Take a short prayer break right at your computer. Spend some quiet time reflecting on a Scripture passage. Knowing that not everyone prays at the same pace, you have control over the pace of the retreat.

Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.

By Andrew. Outside the Scottish Parliament Buildings in Edinburgh, UK.

I am assuming this is written in Scots . The Parliament tour guide told us that the Scottish Parliament recognises only English and Gaelic as official languages, however the EU recognises English, Gaelic and Scots for Scotland. How confusing! So is this a language or dialect of Britian? Also according to Wikipedia, there is a thing called Scottish English, for example "Wee" for "Small".

The text is actually on the floor, behind a hugh set of locked gates and I had to sneak the picture through the staff entrance - sideways. So it is heavily photoshopped to make it readable!
