Adepto Salvus is one of the most technically complex prints I've made. Interference inks are used to create the illusion of vanishing patterns and figures. As the angle of view shifts, the figures literally become nearly transparent and reappear in shiny iridescence. The background patterns also shift in color and merge together as you view them. There are 15 monoprints, each one unique. This is the first in my new series of "special effects" screen prints.
This is the underside of the screen. I used computer paper for the stencil. It held up really well. Blogged here.
Co:Lab project - Alphabet, where each member is asked to produce a custom typeface and produce three prints each with two colours showcasing their alphabet.
bill and i took the 2 day inkblot academy course at discovery world. The little friends of printmaking run it and we had a blast.
The lab is really nice and i was very happy with how my print turned out. I will definitely be signing up for more classes there and probably trying to set up some printing gear at the house.
I recently had an edition of 30 prints made. I'm selling them for $30 (canadian dollars) plus shipping. They are 24"X18", on 100 lb. (270 gsm) acid-free cover stock. All individually signed and numbered. Direct message me here on flickr if you are interested!
my first go at screenprinting, for mother's day, a set of grocery bags festooned with dorky awesomeness
started with the black detail. usually leave this last but at such a small scale, so much scope for disaster thought would do this colour first
