Not sure what this machine is called. It's what tore up the top couple inches of Fernwood and conveyored it all into the truck.

Looks like you're getting a bit full there, buddy....

It's a hot plate scraper

Very well used they are too!

Garforth Parish Church captain Michael Fisher hoists a Walton Park delivery over the Springs Lane trees during a quarter-final tie in the Fred Fleetwood Cup, the Wetherby Cricket League's premier knockout competition. Fisher hit 73 as the visitors, top of Division One, beat by 112 runs mid-table Second Division Walton Park, who fielded a mixture of first and second XI players.

After Fisher's departure, Garforth Parish Church slipped to 160-9 before Tom Conboy and Darren Childe added a decisive 50 in an impressive unbeaten stand for the last wicket. An early triple strike from pacer Childe then reduced Walton Park to 16-3. No 3 Jonathan Smales, who had earlier taken three wickets, completed a deserved half-century before the hosts ran out of batters.

Here is a good shot of the base of the building. The jalousie windows allow lots of light for the lobby and/or shops while still providing good support. I will have to ask Dennis if he had to use jalousie lifters like Raymond does.

This "aerial" view gives you some idea of what the surrounding buildings would look like from looking down out over the city from that sky look-out area. Hmm... maybe this will be the view from part way up the "Ultimate Sky-Scraper" when Dennis builds it!

I suppose it's fitting that if you step into a dog turd there's a dog to help you clean off your shoe. Although I also reckon that this public antique stems from a time when people had to scrape horse droppings off their boots more than anything.

This photo shows the nice detail work Dennis did as the building steps in on the way up. Also of note here is Dennis' design of the recessed bay windows.

There were two of these, one on each side of the steps up to Whaley House. It made me pause for a minute to appreciate modern sidewalks and drainage.

On doorsteps in Beacon Hill. These were placed here in the 1800's to allow men to scrape the "exhaust" from horses off of their boots before entering their homes.

Here is the part Dennis' wife Yali helped him design. She thought the railing was important to keep folks safe as they walk around this high up.

We went for a bush walk and these boot scrapers are at the entrance of the walkway so we can scrape off any mud and seeds and more importantly any disease. Good to see it has been well used. Where we went there were Kauri trees, however, they were a three hour walk and we (Mike) cannot make that journey these days so we went as far as we could admiring the beautiful New Zealand bush.

Not sure what this is--the curvature of the top and closeness to the wall suggests something else than a boot scraper.
