After a hard day out walking in the pouring rain during a recent visit to the Scottish Highlands, it was nice to get back to the hotel and settle by the open fire with a double single malt whisky. Joe certainly looked in his element.
Lecht Mine in the hills north of the Lecht Road (from Corgarff to Tomintoul) near the Well of Lecht, is where lead was mined between 1730 and 1738 when the York Mining Company established workings here on land forfeited to the government following the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion..
I’ve only seen this sunset effect in San Antonio in Ibiza before - the sun goes down and after a few minutes the sky starts to glow pink for about 15 minutes. You can tell I’m not a sunset expert but the effect was quite stunning.
After visiting the glenfinnan monument we had a walk along the river leading to the viaduct... Always a pleasure seeing these majestic beast's especially in the beautiful landscapes of the Highlands

blasting through the speed light as a hole an an overcast sky was moving from sky towards glasgow, it was moving so fast bringing rain and gale winds I had to keep moving to finally catch it getting out of the isle of skye.
this one shot through the rain and light mist, bracketed exposures to get the different ranges of tones and texture and limiting my exposures from 2 - 8 seconds hence using 4s as my base.
