Sep 22 four student volunteers from the Physics Dept’s Outreach Group joined the Chemistry Dept’s Outreach Group for “An Evening of Science” in front of the French Science Building. Using demonstrations, the students explained two topics they learned in mechanics, Newton’s 3rd Law and Waves.

KILKENNY - Monday, 2nd November 2015 - The annual Science Foundation Ireland Science Summit begins today in Kilkenny. Taking place over two-days (2th-3th November) with the theme For Whats Next, the summit provides a platform for 300 members of Irelands research community to discuss Irelands science policy, programmes and progress. The summit will feature keynote speakers including Mr Chris Lewicki, President and Chief Engineer at Planetary Resources, a USA based asteroid mining company whose vision is to do the impossible now by developing a space economy through Asteroid mining.

BARRIGADA, Guam (Feb. 25, 2017) Sailors, assigned to the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), volunteer with local educators to judge a student science fair competition, at Harvest Family Center, Feb. 25. Students ranged from eigth to twelvth grade and were the preliminary winners, chosen to represent the school and receive constructive judgement on their understanding of the scientific process. Frank Cable, forward-deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels in the 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations.
