It took over ten minutes of going back and forth under a tree so I could see the readings on the Canon Camera because it was so bright that day but finally settled on this setting and the location on the side railing in the centre. I got this particular idea by watching the photography in the TV series 'Scandal' when they do those still shots between some the scenes. Thanks guys your scenic work and attention to background does not go unnoticed!!!

An assignment done for Learning Photography with Neil Creek.

neil.creek.name/blog/2008/08/26/extending-just-a-second-d...

I've been temporarily out to lunch and laid up in bed with the flu and a bad back... sciatica is suspected. I felt like I was going into a black hole when I took this shot or perhaps it was the effects of my pain medication :)

I tried really hard to do this project from my bed while laid up .. its the best I could come up with at the time considering the strong effects of pain killers.

I put my disco light on one night after taking my medication and this is what I came up with trying to use the manual settings on my new Canon. I’m still working it all out and hope I am close to what was required for the assignment.

I've spent many hours now studying my new Canon Rebel XTi instruction manual for this project. neil.creek.name/blog/2008/08/06/project-just-a-second/

I'm 2 days overdue .. but will submit it anyway.

Yawn yawn! Went back to work yesterday :s I didn't realise how out of the work zone I'd been! Luckily only another 7 weeks and 1 day till I go on maternity leave, hurrah!

I haven't really been talking about the downer bits of my pregnancy lately, this being because the postives have SO out weighed them, but I think I should talk about both sides. My sciatica has been playing up for a while, rather annoying! I look like an old woman when I'm hobbling around, clutching my hip/bum cheek, yelling 'ouch ouch ouch'! Rather embarrassing! And the insomnia, woh! When will it stop?! Thinking that will stop, then sleepless nights start! Oh well!

Anyway, back to the good stuff! We got our bugaboo! So gorgeous! But now it's in my mums lock up where I can't see it, boo!! Not only that, but we bought a maxi cosi car seat off of gumtree, bargain!! It's spotless! I'm constantly on ebay and gumtree now! Love it!

Going to the birthing centre to do all my paperwork confirming I'm going to have Apple Pip there! Slightly worried though, as I saw that only 64% of first time mums stay there while the others get transfered to the hospital :s mostly because they wanted an epidural, hope I'm not one of them, particularly as the hospital is only five minutes away from my place and the birth centre is about twenty!! Be rather annoying to be transfered basically back home! But hey, I would get to go in a real ambulance with the blue lights flashing!! (I did go in an ambulance after we had a car crash, but it was a car one, not as impressive)!

More kicks this week :)

Only 11 weeks (ish) to go!

This ride at Blair Drummond Safari Park was the one my late Grandfather went over at 93! The photo in the comment box below was taken immediately after. Sadly, they have made it less exciting now - not so steep and with a very gentle ending that would have been much softer than the old one for my Grandfather's sciatica. He died 3 years later but the memory of the ride gave him pleasure for years.

"The Butterfly upon the Sky,

That doesn't know its Name

And hasn't any tax to pay

And hasn't any Home

Is just as high as you and I,

And higher, I believe,

So soar away and never sigh

And that's the way to grieve -- "

Have you ever made a decision that just didn't work out? I'm in the middle of something right now that needs to change. Nothing serious, just personal.

What a lovely weekend! I had a chance to get out with the TtV rig. I even made a trip to Santa Clara's cool library. It opened in 2004, and I just haven't had an opportunity to check it out until yesterday. All I can say is WOW!

My sciatica has settled down quite a bit, although I'm still sore in the morning and at the end of the day. I'm off the meds as of Friday night and I'm feeling a little like I've got a hangover from a month and a half long booze binge. The whole experience was totally unpleasant and I'm working on trying to lose weight and strengthen my abdomen to avoid a recurrence. Surgery is just not an option. I've lost 25 pounds so far.

I hope your Moanday is quick and painless...

Some 80% of adults report having had back discomfort at some time inside their lives. Prior to deciding to worry for no reason at all, you ought to give these pointers a go. With any luck, it will be possible to ease your back discomfort without professional guidance.

You ought to never turn one other cheek towards your back discomfort. Many individuals actually overlook the pain inside their bodies. And then they feel that the rear discomfort may be "walked off". Should you be hurting, limit your movements. You ought to back off and take it easy, and tune in to the signals your system is sending.

Help handle pain inside your back by resting and placing knees and hips at the ninety degree angle to just one another. Laying this way is comfortable and lessens the stress face up if you are sitting. Avoid any position that puts pressure face up or requires anyone to twist your spine.

Think ahead and make time to lift far-away things in a proper way. This will hurt your back and make you feel the worries linked to pain. You must be sure you move physically even closer a long way away objects, so you do things the proper way.

To stop back problems, take note of your posture this is certainly even true when you find yourself being seated. People feel that strenuous activity will be the only source of back injuries, but are wrong. The fact is, numerous things might cause back problems, including placed in the identical position for too much time.

Many of the simplest methods of treating back discomfort are often the most effective. Taking it simple and resting for two days may help restore mobility. Take an anti-inflammatory medicine to your back. Ibuprofen, acetaminophen or naproxen usually work well. Cold compresses can calm inflamed tissues, and heat can be helpful in soothing tight muscles.

You have read about how common back problems is, and sometimes it's about finding what is causing you pain instead of jumping on the doctor right away. Take the advice that this article has given you, and make sure you are always taking good care of your back every day.

My best camera, is still in the repair shop awaiting parts from Portugal ???

I have been laid up with Sciatica, for the last three weeks, so it was good to get out and about a bit yesterday. I went to Budleigh Salterton for a couple of hours, I enjoyed!
