The Yangzi is the longest river in China. It's formal name is Cháng Jiāng (长江, "Long River").
But in it's lower reaches, after passing the Yizheng/Yangzhou area, it is called Yángzǐ Jiāng (扬子江), from which the western names such as Yangtze, Yangtzekiang, Yangzi or Jangtsekiang are derived.
The upper reaches however, before the river enters the Sichuan Basin, are called Jīnshā Jiāng (金沙江, "Golden Sand River").
Photo taken: on a flight from PEK (ZBAA) to SHA (ZSSS), position northeast of Yizheng in Jiangsu Province above the outskirts of Yangzhou(*), looking towards the sunset in the west.
Btw., the bridge just discernible in the distance, just beyond the island, is the "Fourth Nanjing Changjiang Bridge" (南京长江第四大桥), about 43 km away from this position.

(*) just for those interested: about 35 NM SE of waypoint RIBVI on ATS route W166, altitude about 6,000m / 19,600ft.
Now those are "China cliche" in it's purest form... - and contrasting well to the modern Hangzhou skyline in the background.

Mandalay liegt am Irawadi-Fluss rund 716 Kilometer nördlich von Rangun. Mandalay wurde von König Mindon 1857 in freiem Gelände am Ufer des Irawadi errichtet, und zwar einer alten Prophezeiung Folge leistend, dass an dieser Stelle zum 2400. Jubiläum des buddhistischen Glaubens eine Stadt entstehen würde.

Mitten im Naturpark Llevant Peninsula liegt mit der Cala Agulla eine paradiesische Meeresbucht an der mallorquinischen Nordostküste. Die weitestgehend unbebaute Landschaft hinter dem feinsandigen Strand besteht aus Bergen, Dünen, flachen Felsen und Kiefernwäldern. Türkisfarben bis Azurblau schimmert das Wasser im hellen Sonnenschein. Die beinahe karibisch anmutende Atmosphäre zieht sowohl Urlauber als auch Einheimische an den Strand der Cala Agulla.MALLORCA.COM
