The Ring of Kerry is a 179-kilometre scenic route that loops you through beautiful County Kerry, offering plenty of fantastic viewpoints.

In Utah... on the way to Moab. If anybody knows the name of this place, please let me know! ;)

Shot with the Olympus E-M1 along scenic Vermont Route 100 just outside of Wilmington. RT 100 is, in my view, the longest, most scenic and picturesque route in New England, running from just outside of Massachusetts to the border with Canada.

A Raven in the Olympic Mountains. The light and background were dreamy which prompted me to photograph him in high key to highlight those beautiful feathers then made adjustments. Normally they are so dark you can't see the colors underneath. Anyhow, a different take on this highly intelligent bird.

The A82 and its wonderful scenery. No heavy adjustments or "artistic" post processing. Just as it was and how I think it is meant to be.

The A82 is a road in Scotland that runs from Glasgow to Inverness by way of Fort William. The majority of the route is a trunk road and hence managed by Transport Scotland, who view the road as a vitally important link through the Scottish Highlands and beyond.

The road passes close to some of the most notable landmarks in the Highlands, including Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glen Coe, Ben Nevis, the Commando Memorial, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Several travel guides have praised individual parts of the road, such as the section from Tyndrum to Glencoe across Rannoch Moor, as providing memorable driving experiences. At 167 miles (269 km), the road is the second longest A-road in Scotland, after the A9, and has been described as the "slower but more scenic route" of the two.

The A82 has an extensive history. It is derived in several places from the military roads constructed through the Highlands by General Wade and Major Caulfeild during the early to mid 18th century, along with later roads constructed by Thomas Telford in the early 19th. The modern route is based on that designed by Telford, but with a number of improvements primarily dating from the 1920s and '30s. These include a diversion across Rannoch Moor and another around Loch Leven, which was subsequently replaced by the Ballachulish Bridge.

This was today in Blue Diamond, Nevada. I was headed to the other side of the sign for my shot - until I read the sign - and I realized it belonged in the picture. Road signs tend to be quite informative.

During our voyage on the ColorLine from Kiel, Germany to Oslo, Norway, we had the opportunity to sail beneath the remarkable Great Belt Bridge. Spanning the Great Belt strait, this engineering marvel connects the Danish islands of Zealand and Funen. With a total length of approximately 18.2 kilometers, the Great Belt Bridge is ranked among the world's longest suspension bridges. Its construction involved intricate design and precise engineering, making it an impressive feat of architecture. As we sailed underneath, we were captivated by the bridge's immense size and structure, appreciating its significance in facilitating efficient transportation between the Danish islands – Great Belt Strait, Denmark

Above Malham Cove, the Great Scar Limestone forms a spectacular limestone pavement with grykes (fissures) formed by the solvent action of rainwater on joints in the limestone.

There was plenty of rainwater on this visit, giving the pavement an unwelcome "ice rink" slipiness.

We were driving the 'route des cretes'-scenic drive in the 'Gorge des Verdon'-national parc in France, and we were chased by a thunderstorm. It gave some spectacular views on the scenic viewpoints. I think it looked much more spectacular than with bright sunny blue skies...

At least the scenic route proved to be spectacular as we left what we call "home."

We were up in Tagaytay for the weekend and I took this shot from the park railings around sunset time. The tripod was there but the light was changing fast so I didn't use it. I held the camera steady as I could while the wind was picking up a bit. The sky had those orange and gray clouds going on, and you could see the whole landscape below with houses and buildings spread out everywhere. There's tall grass and plants in the foreground that were swaying around, and the view stretches pretty far back to some distant hills. The lighting worked out okay since I caught it right before it got too dark.

Traveling this road in the Lake District is a totally awesome experience. Our holiday which included The North Coast 500 lasted for three weeks all told after which we pulled in the Lake District.. It rained a good part of every single day including our drive both up and down the country. As such many of my shots were roadside shot but had unparalleled beauty to take in including Honister Pass. The rain at least kept everything looking fresh.

The Honister Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 356m (1,167ft) above the sea level, located in the English Lake District. It is one of Cumbria’s highest passes, with a gradient of 1 in 4.

The road over the pass is asphalted. It’s called B5289 road and it’s a narrow, perilously steep road snaking up the fellside to Honister Pass and Buttermere valley beyond. There are some narrow sections -scarcely wide enough for two cars- where if two vehicles have to pass each other, one might have to reverse for some kilometers of winding narrow road to get to a place wide enough to pass. It shouldn’t be attempted by those who don't know how to reverse. The road links Seatoller, in the valley of Borrowdale and Gatesgarth at the southern end of Buttermere.

The Peace Monument also known as the Friendship Monument or the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument at the Jvari Pass in Georgia is a striking structure erected in 1983 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Georgian-Russian Treaty of Georgievsk 1783. This treaty marked the beginning of a closer political and military alliance between the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti (in present-day Georgia) and the Russian Empire. Its purpose was to protect Georgia from invasions by hostile powers. The monument is built in the form of a semicircular stone structure and is located at a panoramic point along the Jvari Pass, a mountain pass on the Georgian Military Road. This area is located in the Caucasus Mountains and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The monument consists of colorful mosaics depicting scenes from Georgian history and culture, as well as the theme of peace and unity. Although the monument was intended as a symbol of friendship between Georgia and Russia, it has attracted controversy in later years due to the complex historical and political relations between the two countries, particularly after Georgia's independence in 1991 and subsequent conflicts. Today, it is seen more as a tourist attraction than a political symbol. The monument is a popular stop for travelers exploring the Georgian Military Road due to its impressive views and historical significance.

This photograph shows a section of the Peace Monument at the Jvari Pass in Georgia. The colorful mosaic, which is prominently placed on the stone arch structure, illustrates themes such as history, culture, and the connection between Georgia and Russia. The artwork features figures, symbols, and scenes that reference both traditional Georgian and Russian elements. These dates refer to the 200th anniversary of the Treaty of Georgievsk (1783). This treaty established an alliance between Georgia and the Russian Empire, which at the time was intended to protect Georgia from foreign threats. In the center is a large central figure. This appears to be a woman holding a child, symbolizing peace, motherland, or protection. On either side are scenes of knights and horses. These images emphasize the fighting spirit and heroism, as well as the historical stories that connect both nations. The three arches below the artwork are part of the semi-circular construction of the monument. In the background is a snow-covered landscape, representing the rugged and scenic terrain of the Jvari Pass.

Devil's Valley lies high in the Caucasus Mountains, near the Jvari Pass. The valley is known for its raw beauty: steep mountains, deep gorges, fast-flowing rivers, and ancient watchtowers. In the past, it was a strategically important area, but also dangerous and difficult to traverse. It earned the nickname “Valley of the Devils” because invaders would often get lost, be ambushed, or simply never return—partly due to the fierce defense by the local population. Few tourists venture here; it feels like a hidden world. Especially outside the summer season, the valley is hard to access. Hikers and off-road adventurers love this kind of terrain, but it’s far from a typical day trip. One of the natural highlights of the area is the Eretos Waterfall. Cascading down a rocky cliff into a narrow gorge, the waterfall is tucked away between forested slopes. The sound of the falling water echoes through the valley, adding to the mysterious atmosphere of the region. It’s a place where nature takes center stage: wild, untouched, and barely marked by human presence. Visiting the waterfall feels like a reward for those willing to explore this rugged landscape.

Devil's Valley lies high in the Caucasus Mountains. The region is dramatic and mountainous, with panoramic views and an untamed character. It lies along the famous Georgian Military Highway, an ancient route that connects Tbilisi with Russia via the Jvari Pass. The landscape displays a mesmerizing contrast between snow-capped peaks and the golden autumn slopes, a characteristic feature of the region in late autumn. The deep blue sky emphasize the grandeur of the Caucasus, making this a truly awe-inspiring sight. Kanitha enjoying a view on the valley, with the impressive Caucasus mountains in the background.

The shepherd dog in the foreground sits on a raised platform by the famous Gergeti Trinity Church, a 14th-century monastery situated at an altitude of approximately 2,170 metres. From this vantage point, a breathtaking panorama extends over Stepantsminda, a small town in the Georgian Caucasus and a major gateway for adventurers exploring the mountains. Stepantsminda is the starting point for many mountain climbs, including the challenging trek to the summit of Kazbek, one of the highest mountains in Georgia, which at 5,033 metres is a popular destination for experienced climbers and nature lovers alike. In the background, the imposing mountain range rises, including Mount Kuro, which rises to 3,980 metres and forms a dramatic, rugged frame for this sacred structure. The snow-capped peaks and sheer cliffs emphasize the solitude and grandeur of this place. The dog, a faithful companion of the monastery priests, seems to watch over the city and the valley like a guardian. This image symbolizes the peace and timelessness of the region, where nature, culture and tradition come together in a unique way. With the warm autumnal hues in the valley, the rugged rock formations and the snow-capped mountain peaks, the photo exudes both serenity and majestic power. Here, where history and nature merge harmoniously, the dog silently watches over the centuries-old monastery and the vast highlands.

From Gergeti Trinity Church, the view offers a breathtaking panorama of Mount Kuro, an imposing mountain rising to 3,980 metres. The mountain towers with steep rocks and snow-capped peaks form a dramatic contrast with the greenery of the valley and the small town of Stepantsminda in the distance. The view extends over the surrounding mountain range, which gives the region a majestic aura. The power and ruggedness of Mount Kuro dominate the landscape, while the church itself maintains a quiet, spiritual presence. It is a place where nature displays its grandeur, but at the same time silence and serenity reign.

A golden Texas sunrise stretches across open farmland in Colorado County, just outside the small community of Nada. The rural road, flanked by rice fields and tall grasses, glows under the warmth of morning light—an image of stillness and quiet renewal in the heart of the prairie.

An awe-inspiring aerial view of Namibia's desert terrain, where towering dunes meet rugged canyons in a breathtaking contrast of textures and colors. The shifting sands and eroded rock formations tell a story of time, wind, and resilience in one of the world's most extreme landscapes.

A journey from Ananuri Fort through the Jvari Pass is one of the most impressive experiences you can have in Georgia. The contrast between the colorful autumn landscapes, the sudden snow-capped mountains, and the heavy mist is breathtaking and feels almost magical. The journey begins with the warm colors of autumn surrounding the historic Ananuri Fort. As you continue along the Georgian Military Road, nature slowly begins to change. The colorful forests gradually make way for bare mountain slopes, and the fresh mountain air becomes more noticeable. As you get closer to the Jvari Pass, the first signs of snow begin to appear. The peaks of the mountains seem sprinkled with sugar, and the temperature drops noticeably. As you ascend further, heavy mist starts to envelop the surroundings. The visibility becomes limited, and the world feels suddenly isolated and mysterious. Upon reaching the Jvari Pass, you arrive at the Peace Monument, where the mist hangs like a thin veil over the landscape. The colorful mosaics of the monument contrast beautifully with the white snow and the gray fog. The view from here, though partially obscured, is stunningly serene. The snow-capped peaks, frozen rivers, and icy air create an almost otherworldly atmosphere.
