A general view of a street scene pictured in Jaipur in Rajasthan in India..

.

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, India. It was formerly the capital of the state of Jaipur, which was merged with Rajasthan 1949. The city was painted pink, the traditional colour of welcome, in honour of the visit of Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria, 1883. It is also noted for its blue pottery..

.

India is a republic, occupying most of the Indian subcontinent of South Asia. The land includes the northerly Himalayas, the fertile plain around the Ganges river, and the southerly Deccan plateau; capital New Delhi; official languages Hindi and English; currency rupee.

We haven't put away our Christmas decorations yet. The nativity scene has always been my favorite. :)

Some behind-the-scenes photos taken by "Unstoppable" Lindsey Rae Blau during my photo shoot for Wasatch Woman Magazine's "Woman of the Year" issue

This year's winner is Rachel Coleman of Signing Time in Salt Lake City, UT. Rachel just posted her wrap-up of the shoot on her blog and comments:

"The art director took a look at my clothing options and we decided to go with 3 different looks, since the plan was to have me on the cover and photos inside with my story. Look #1 was some stuff I just brought from home, the art director said my collar had a personality all its own, so Marcus took that as a cue to use his toupee tape and mold that collar, forcing it to follow his artistic whims.

The photographer, Michael Calanan was great. As I am SURE you can imagine, I am a pretty demanding subject, especially because I RARELY smile. "

Thanks, Rachel!

Just like last week, this week we went to Tanukikoji (I never remember if I need to hyphenate that into "Tanuki-koji" or not). There were still many decorations hanging from the ceiling (thankfully closed, given the rain). This time, we went a different direction.

In April 2016, we spent a week on the island of Terceira in the Azores. The Azores are located about 900 miles off the coast of Portugal.

Streets and sidewalks were all cobblestone. White stone/marble was used to make patterns in the sidewalks. Even crosswalks were done this way. Sidewalks onsecondary streets were either narrow or non-existant. The good thing about all of the cobblestone roadways is that you could hear cars coming.

Scenes from G20 weekend in Toronto.

Le matin sur le Gange se mélange rituels, lavage du linge, du corps.

We happened to time our one and only ever trip to Rome when a marathon was occurring. We had intended to rent golf carts to cruise around. Instead, my sister and I literally saw nothing of the city cause the trip was switched to walking. This was the location where we just waited while the others dealt with a surly guide.

I take a lot of photos when I'm 'on location' getting photographs of whatever takes my fancy. I thought it was time for a little collage of these shots, as they tell more of a story of the work that goes into this hobby. I'm sure you can all relate.

I've covered thousands of miles for fun, climbed many hills, through every season, in all weather and managed to get the shots I've wanted. Worth it!

Fully aware I'm insane and should probably check myself in but... I'm not finished.

"The Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1933 as a waterfowl sanctuary for birds migrating along the critical migration highway called the Atlantic Flyway. The refuge is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Maryland in Dorchester County, and consists of over 28,000 acres (110 km2) of freshwater impoundments, brackish tidal wetlands, open fields, and mixed evergreen and deciduous forests. Blackwater NWR is one of over 540 units in the National Wildlife Refuge System, which is managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service."
