The Christmas Market started in our town of Stuttgart.
Der Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt hat seit vorgestern geöffnet.
This is the photo collage I used for the Great Walt Disney World Photo Quiz I posted on the AllEars Picture This! blog a couple of weeks ago. Only one person got them all right and won the prize. Click the link to see the quiz and everyone’s answers. Some are quite interesting.
From top left:
1. Engine Co. 71 firehouse is located on Main Street USA. The Walt Disney World resort opened in 1971.
2. Disney Hollywood Studios Christmas Tree located in the front of the park’s entrance.
3. These ornaments were on a Christmas tree in Dinoland USA inside the Animal Kingdom park. The clock ornament refers to the theme of time running out for the dinosaurs.
4. The stockings belong to Jennings Osbourne, his wife Mitzy and daughter Breezy and were the creators of the Osbourne Lights which now reside with some Disney upscaling in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
5. Each year, campers in the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground go all out to decorate their campsites for Christmas (and Halloween, too).
6. A Disney World Cast Member personalizing an ornament for a guest.
7. This photo of Christmas Wishes fireworks show was taken from the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) next to the Ferry Boat landing. You can not get this straight on view of Cinderella Castle from the beach at the Polynesian Resort which was the popular guess.

Fashion advertisement containing two panelled scenes of 19 elegantly attired men and women in a parlor and outdoor setting. Upper panel shows the parlor scene with 8 men and two women socializing. Most of the men wear suits with striped or plaid pants, long coats tapered at the waist, and bow ties. Some hold top hats and canes. The women wear a bonnet, shirtwaist, and full skirt or a riding habit. Furnishings include a marble pedestal, and mosaic carpeting and wallpaper. Lower panel shows General Zachary Taylor and two military officers, in uniforms and mounted on horses, flanked by 6 male civilians in front of a military training ground. All the plain-clothed men wear top hats, striped or checkered pants, and overcoats or capes. Background includes calvary troops on drill and a cannon. Most of the depicted men are clean-shaven or have mustaches. Key numbered 1-10 and 11-19 printed below the figures.

----------------------------------A picture describes a scene at the time. The photographer may deliberately attempt to manipulate the viewer to create associations. In this case, I saw an opportunity emerge; convey a variety of contrasts and create content-related stress. Ok, let content be content, the contrasts are interesting enough. Different parts of the world, white and black, quiet and fast. An image that would excite curiosity.

Lake Scene.
Back to more mundane landscapes. Funny how you always want, what you don't have, I really have a hard time missing the mountains. Well. No mountains here. But that lakes and still a lot of fall color when I was there the other week. Played around with filters for motivation, thus the screwed color, also some editing. Not meant as an attemp to do something naturalistically. -- More to come, have to work unfortunately ...
Taken during a murder tour of Seattle! These tours are awesome. If you get half a dozen of your friends together, you can arrange your own private tour for something like $25 person. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon for less than the cost of dinner and a movie.
Early morning in the fog at Brydon Lagoon, I ran in to fellow birder Randy already out making his tour while carrying his little one in his backpack.
