Autobuses Portillo, part of the Avanza group, is the main operator for services in the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella in the Costa Del Sol.

Their fleet has been modernised recently with a number of Castrosua Magnus.E bodied Scanias joining the fleet. One of them is seen here in Torremolinos on route M110. This route runs from Benalmadena to Malaga and is an express route once it leaves Torremolinos - I find it almost as quick as taking a train for the Malaga end of the route.

Bus Éireann (Cork) Scania Omnilink SL class

A nod to the Bus Eireann SL class which ended operations in Cork city this week ( January 2022 ).

Bus Eireann operated 25 of the class exclusively for city services in Cork.

Scania L94UB Wright Axcess Floline is seen here at Rippingale Church, Rippingale, Lincolnshire whilst operating a shuttle service from the Delaine Bus Museum as part of their annual running day.

This vehicle was new to First Eastern Counties in 1999 before being transferred to First Northampton in 2012 where it spent 15 months before transferring to First Essex in 2013.

574 was then sold to Connexions Buses in 2015 before being purchased by The Eastern Counties Preservation Group in 2017 to be preserved.

Go-Ahead London's annual shuttle service for the Chelsea Flower Show, seen in Pimlico Road on the last day of the show for the year.

This bus is a trial for Scania Citywide double decks which are being considered for fleet update at BVG. I believe VDL is also supplying or has supplied a double deck Citea for evaluation. Cannot get this new type of blind to be photogenic!

Route 23A operated as a special service for Imberbus 2024 on 17/08/24

I was perched on the back row of 5 with a set of seats right up against my knees which isn't shown in this photo. On the other side is a raised box going up as far as the windows giving the passenger no legroom whatsoever. And the ceiling was becoming disconnected to the sides at the back - didn't look particularly convincing of providing a safe journey but everyone got to Ryde in one piece

Still without its front fleet number is Southern Vectis 2004 new to sister company Uni-Link in dual door format in Southampton. She's also had spells with fellow Go- Ahead companies including Morebus, Bluestar and Plymouth CityBus. .

I rode 12001 on Sunday 13th on route E from East Cowes back to Newport Quay

For the 2019 over 100 buses attended operating free routes to most pubs across the Isle of Wight

Today (18th February 2022) was the day Storm Eunice battered the South of England bringing 125.4mph winds at the Needles on the Isle of Wight. Therefore the bus operator, Southern Vectis, suspended its services from midday until 4pm. Before and after this single deckers were used as they have a lower centre of gravity and included Vectis Blue Optare Solos 3803/4/5/7/9 and 3814 on a variety of rare routes including the 7 and 12 to Alum Bay, the 1 to Cowes, the 5 to East Cowes, the 38 Newport Town Service and the 9 to Ryde. Green Liveried Optare Solo 3813 was on the 6 and Scania single deckers 2004/7 appeared on routes 7 and the 9/12 respectively. A blue solo on the 38 isn't that rare as before COVID the route 38 and 39 buses used to swap between each journey. Bluestar and Salisbury Reds services were also suspended for a time on 18/02/2022

Here's some Southern Vectis news: 1596 is on the 27 as 1111 has had a puncture this afternoon. Bluestar 1253 and 1255 (former Go-Ahead London buses) are parked up Mountjoy ready for SV school routes but may appear in public service - are they to replace 1128 and 1129. I believe the SV school routes are open to anyone this year. 2004 is out on the Shanklin Shuttle and 1145 is making a very rare appearance on the Coaster
