A parasitised Scale collected on 6th April from a bay tree growing in Hastings Cemetery. In the picture below you can see an exit hole from which a male Metaphycus dispar parasitoid wasp eclosed on 13th April.

This family of Scaled Quail hightailed it into the brush when we stopped at the park. Those babies are adorable, with their little miniature topknots.

This shot was inspired by this fabulous shot by Kalexanderson. Checkout her fantastic storm troopers series . Very creative and always superbly photographed. My shot is a feeble imitation, for the lack of good light conditions and a good place to set things up.
I'll probably redo the shot another time, somewhere else
ODC Group 2: Scale
I find you can use actual museum brochures for art. All you need are scissors, the brochure and a mini frame (Michaels, Aaron's Brothers, or your local dollar store carries these). The brochure is printed on glossy paper and often includes images of actual paintings. This is a great way to recycle!

Made up of more than 20,000 pounds of recycled newspaper, Steven Siegel's Scale is at Abington Art Center's sculputre park. On the other side is Alverthorpe Park.
Did some testing today with it. The values for converting x (grams) to y (scale reading) is y=(197.56*ln(x))-181.25 and from scale reading to grams is x=2.50288*(exp(0.00506175y)).
