Kept seeing little flashes of color out of the corner of my eye on the way to Hoover Dam.(note date) Finally saw they were poppies and asked Pete to stop so I could get a picture. Lots of traffic, was trying for a whole bunch but finally saw this one and jumped out for a fast one. I'm glad I did.

I think these are ganzanias. They are all over the campground in Santee Lakes. Had an orange theme going here and wanted to re-visit California one more time, before moving on.
Same trip, after we saw Hoover Dam, we pulled into a parlking lot and I was going to take a shot of some interesting plant. It was ladybug time, if you know what I mean and they were all looking for love....except this one.I think he thought he'd stand out from all the rest and he did!
