Moritzburg Castle (Schloss Moritzburg) or Moritzburg Palace is a Baroque palace in Moritzburg, in the German state of Saxony, about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) northwest of the Saxon capital, Dresden.
The castle has four round towers and lies on a symmetrical artificial island. It is named after Duke Moritz of Saxony, who had a hunting lodge built there between 1542 and 1546. The surrounding woodlands and lakes were a favourite hunting area of the electors and kings of Saxony.
In 1972 Moritzburg Castle was one of the locations of the Czechoslovak-German film TÅ™i oÅ™ÃÅ¡ky pro Popelku ("Three Nuts for Cinderella"), which became a popular fairy-tale movie in Central Europe.

It lies very still in front of me, the Quitzdorf reservoir in Saxony. Wafts of mist rise from the smooth surface and float across the water, lending the scene something magical and fairytale-like.
It will be a while before sunrise. and the people around the lake are still seem to be asleep (I assume at least strongly, based on the time). But nature is already beginning to stir. In addition to the buzzing of the mosquitoes, which keep stubbornly flying at me, I hear the first songbirds behind me and on the other bank the unmistakable calls of the cranes.
And in the middle of the lake a fisherman floats through the fog in a small boat. He was already there when I arrived at the bank and it was still much darker.
So there seems to be others outside of photographers who just can't resist those special moments before sunrise.
Ganz still liegt er vor mir, der Stausee von Quitzdorf in Sachsen. Von der glatten Wasseroberfläche steigen Nebelschwaden empor und treiben über das Wasser und verleihen der Szene etwas magisches und märchenhaftes.
Bis Sonnenaufgang wird es noch eine Weile dauern. und die Menschen rund um den See schlafen noch tief und fest (vermute ich zumindest stark, auf Grund der Uhrzeit). Doch die Natur beginnt sich bereits zu regen. Neben dem Summen der Mücken, die mich immer wieder hartnäckig anfliegen, höre ich die ersten Singvögel hinter mir die ersten Singvögel und am anderen Ufer das unverkennbare Rufen der Kraniche.
Und Mitten auf dem See treibt ein Angler in einem kleinen Boot durch den Nebel. Er war schon dort, als ich am Ufer angekommen bin und es noch deutlich dunkler war.
Es scheint also auch außerhalb der Fotografen noch andere zu geben, die diesen besonderen Momenten vor Tagesanbruch nicht widerstehen können.

Back to work after a long weekend I took the evening hours for a ride with the scooter of my son to take some shots. My tour went into the countryside of the Melle-Area in Lower Saxony. Enjoying the warm evening I read that this May is the warmest ever in recorded meteorological history. At least in Northwest Germany. Day temperatures in the mid-twenties and 10+ hours of sunshine are a pleasure for all of us. To be continued...

Die Schlichtheit des Raums und der nur im Schnitzwerk und den Säulen sichtbare Zierrat beeindruckten mich.

... sind, wie ich schon bei der Außenansicht vermerkte, deutlich niedriger als das Mittelschiff.
Man kann einmal herum gehen und entdeckt dabei den Taufstein von 1592, römische Handwaschbecken (klar noch der Romanik zuzuordnen) in den Seitenwänden sowie Grabmäler längst verblichener Fürsten.
An der hinteren Wand des Schiffes erkennt man eine Platte - die sog. Memorienwand. Sie erinnert an die "Amelungsborner Väter".

Altmärkische Höhe ist eine kreisangehörige Gemeinde im Landkreis Stendal in Sachsen-Anhalt, die am 1. Januar 2010 aus den ehemals selbständigen Gemeinden Boock, Bretsch, Gagel, Heiligenfelde, Kossebau, Losse und Lückstedt gebildet wurde. Sie wurde nach der Altmärkischen Höhe benannt, einem niedrigen Höhenzug, der die Einzugsgebiete der Flüsse Jeetze und Biese/Aland trennt.
Sometimes on the way to my actual destination I find beautiful motifs along the way - like here the bare stick in the evening light.
Manchmal finde ich auf dem Weg zu meinem eigentlichen Ziel auch schöne Motive am Wegesrand - so wie hier der Bloßstock im Abendlicht.

Leider hatte ich kein Stativ dabei und musste die Kamera auf einem geeigneten Untergrund neben dem Bachlauf positionieren. Aber, dass bringt ganz neue, ungewohnt tiefe Blickwinkel. Gut, wer da an seiner Kamera einen klappbaren Monitor hat :-). Das schont den Rücken und hält in dem Fall auch die Hose trocken.
Ein paar Tage später war ich besser vorbereitet und habe mein 3-Bein-Stativ von Manfrotto mitgenommen.
Danke an alle Buddys, für die netten Kommentare und Likes meiner Fotos.
Es gibt sicher schon unzählige Fotos von hier, aber jedes Mal, wenn ich hier bin, ist die Stimmung und das Licht anders und so doch wieder einzigartig.
