Savoy Hotel Copenhagen is a 66-room, privately run hotel located at Vesterbrogade 34 in the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The hotel is based in the rear wing of the Løvenborg Building, Denmark's first example of Art Nouveau.
The building was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1885.
The building was constructed for master joiner Carl Kaas-Rasmussen. In 1906, he demolished the existing buildings at the site. They included a four-storey residential building from 1861. The new building was completed the following year with the assistance of the architect Anton Rosen. It originally contained a cinema and a shop in the ground floor, commercial space in the middle floors, a residential apartment on the fourth floor and a seamstress in the attic
a breathtaking view, a place full of history and charm of the past and mysticism. It was a real surprise. Italy is truly full of wonderful places
This monument is a symbol of Piedmont Region and a place that inspired the writer Umberto Eco to conceive the best-seller “Il nome della rosa” ( The name of the rose ) , the Sacra of San Michele is an ancient abbey built between 983 and 987 on the top of mount Pirchiriano, 40 km from Turin. From it’s towers you can admire Turin and a breathtaking view of the Val di Susa. Inside the main Church of the Sacra, dating from the twelfth century, are buried members of House of Savoy (one of the oldest royal family in the world).
Dedicated to the worship of the Archangel Michele, defender of the Christian people, the Sacra di San Michele fits inside a ruote of pilgrimage (long over 2000 km) wich runs from Saint-Michel ( France ) to Monte Sant’Angelo (Puglia).
The history, the spiritual value and the landscape that sorrounds it trasform the Sacra in a special destination for visitors from all over Europe: pilgrims, faithfuls, tourists but also athletes who want to test themselves with climbing paths or mountain-bike.
The Sacra di San Michele offers to its public guided tours and events during all months of the year.
The different historical, architecture and painting sites are accessible to people with disabilities.

Previously unpublished shot from September 2018. That moment when the texture of a coat catches your eye against a picture of some savoy cabbages. Just to be clear, in case you don't know me well, I am not calling her a cabbage. Enjoy!
Annecy, Haute-Savoie, Auvernia-Ródano-Alpes, France.
Annecy is a French commune located in the department of Haute-Savoie, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
Le vieil Annecy, (not to be confused with Annecy-le-Vieux, another border town), was a settlement from Roman times. Annecy was the court of the counts of Geneva or Genevois of the 10th century. It passed to the counts of Savoy in 1401. In 1444, it became the regional capital of the provinces of Genevois, Faucigny and Beaufortain. With the advance of Calvinism, Annecy became a center for the Counter-Reformation, the former Bishopric of Geneva being transferred to it in 1535. Francis de Sales was born at Sales in 1567 and served as Bishop of Annecy from 1602 to 1622; his relics are kept in the cathedral.
During the French Revolution, the Savoy region was conquered by France. Annecy joined the Mont Blanc department, whose capital was Chambéry. The Catholic diocese was suppressed in 1801. After the Bourbon restoration in 1815, Annecy was returned to the King of Sardinia and the Catholic diocese restored in 1822. When Savoy was annexed to France in 1860 with the Treaty of Turin, it became the capital. of the new department of Haute-Savoie.
As a new commune, it was created on January 1, 2017, pursuant to a resolution of the prefect of Haute-Savoie of July 14, 20163 with the union of the communes of Annecy, Annecy-le-Vieux, Cran-Gevrier, Meythet, Pringy and Seynod, becoming the town hall in the former commune of Annecy.

Boasting an ideal location between the lake and the city, this luxury hotel now has a new wing in addition to its historic building and garden.
The tower you see is a from a different building and not part of this one. This is the 1881 (the year built is in Roman numerals behind the red flag) W.&J. Sloane Building at 889-888 Broadway between 18th and 19th Streets in the Flatiron district in Manhattan. There are some pretty fascinating detail on this structure. They're not very clear in the shot however. The link below shows them better. There are birds, monsters, angels, and other figures in the terra-cotta pilasters and panels on the facade. The brothers William and John Sloane, were natives of Scotland who mastered the craft of weaving. The Sloane firm gained a reputation for selling high quality goods after the Civil War and then catered to the New York carriage trade. They did well esp in the carpet industry controlling the product in a great number of domestic and foreign carpet- mills. They also did interior design, upholstery, and antiques.Nearly every major hotel in NYC-the Waldorf Astoria,Plaza, and Savoy among them-was decorated and carpeted by Sloane.daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/2011/12/w-j-sloane-buildli...
After waiting at Faber for 5.5 hours the Pine mountain Branch local C-741 heads south at Rockholds. He'll go to Savoy and pick up two cars of logs and return to Corbin. It seems that after C-741 was heading south they discovered the Pine Mountain Branch was out of service account of a stripped joint at Gatliff.

Savoy cabbages just ask to be photographed! I've kept it simple here with about ten light-painted images blended in PSE. I use diffused LED torchlight for illumination.
Macro Mondays 'vegetables' theme.
I had lots of ideas for this week's theme but unfortunately I wasn't able to get to a shop to buy any of the more unusual vegetables. My friend Rachael can always be trusted to come up with things when I need a photo subject and in this instance I snaffled a couple of outside leaves from a savoy cabbage to experiment with. I like the resulting texture details.
