The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is a Russian Orthodox cathedral in Moscow, Russia, on the northern bank of the Moskva River. With an overall height of 103 metres (338 ft), it is the tallest Orthodox Christian church in the world.
The current church is the 2nd to stand on this site. The original church, built during the 19th century, took more than 40 years to build, and was the scene of the 1882 world premiere of the 1812 Overture composed by Tchaikovsky. It was destroyed in 1931 on the order of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.
Guernsey was treated to extraordinary light after sunset today. One of the most spectacular sunsets I have witnessed. Hundreds of people took photos and posted them on social media
The Church of the Saviour at Berestovo is located immediately north of the Monastery of the Caves in an area known as Berestove. Although it is situated outside the Lavra fortifications, the Saviour Church is part of the Lavra complex and the related World Heritage Site.
……A look back at our previous Cornish trip, great to see the mist up the Camel Estuary clearing minute by minute, you can just make out a few boats moored there - amazing how quickly it cleared………..

I think the local farmer used this tractor to keep the village roads of Flakstad clear of snow drifts.
The Church of the Saviour at Berestovo.
Berestovo was a suburban residence of Volodymyr the Great (who died there in 1015 and some of his descendants, including Vsevolod I and Volodymyr II. It was also the site of a monastery, first recorded in 1073. Construction of the present structure is not documented, but most art historians date it to the reign of Vladimir Monomakh (1113–1125). Indeed, it has structural parallels with the churches of Pereiaslav, especially those built during Monomakh's administration of the town at the turn of the 12th century.

St Saviour's Point is a small rocky promontory on the side of the steep headland at Polruan that faces the English Channel. It lies below the ruins of the13th century Chapel of St Saviour - a Scheduled Ancient Monument - which is on top of the headland. During WWII Fowey was a crucial military and naval asset and was heavily defended from attack. There were a number of gun emplacements around the entrance to the harbour, along with searchlight batteries. St Saviour's Point still has the concrete remains of a defensive position, though I have been unable to discover exactly what its role was.

Wikipedia: St Saviour's Church was designed by George Edmund Street. On 17 October 1865, the foundation stone of the new church was laid. The main church building was built from 1865 to 1866, and its steeple was built from 1870 to 1872. The church was consecrated on 31 January 1867 by Ashurst Gilbert, the Bishop of Chichester. It is made from red brick with Bath stone dressings, and has a polychrome, clay tile roof. There were later additions to the church: a baptistry was added in 1892; a chapel was added to the south in 1903; and church room was built in 1954. Grade 11 listed building
After what has seemed an eternity, lockdown is finally starting to be lifted, and we can venture further afield for our walks. Yesterday I drove to Turville Heath for a walk.
This is Saviours, the former village church which was converted into this beautiful house when the church closed in the mid seventies.
After the recent floods had receded at the mouth of the river Spey, upwards of a couple of dozen Salmon were left stranded in the local golf course (Garmouth and Kingston)
This is a shot of them being removed from the "golf course pool" and returned to the river alive.
If they had been left any longer they would have run out of oxygen in the water.
St Saviour's Anglican Church located in the Homesteaders' Village located in the Manitoba Agricultural Museum grounds in the Town of Austin Manitoba Canada
St. Saviour’s Church is an Anglican Church. The church originated in Odanah which translates from Cree to “meeting place”, one mile west of Minnedosa.
The church was founded by the Meadows family which had the first wedding, baptism and funeral there. The Meadows also donated the Bible located in the church. The money from the church was collected from England.
The interior of the church is decorated with polished white ash. The church was constructed traditionally in the form of a cross with stained glass windows, facing the east to catch the early morning sunlight.
St. Saviours also has the traditional Victorian barge board, commonly referred to as gingerboard, which dates back to the 14th century in Europe. This fret work, which spans the roof top of the tiny church, was popular in England during the reign of Queen Victoria.
The goblets for Communion and the wicker basket to carry Sacraments of Holy Communion are original artifacts.
The church is still used for weddings and services.
