This Save Mart store at 5600 Folsom Blvd in Sacramento, California was originally a Lucky Supermarket. It was an Albertsons from 1999-2007. The sign reminds me of the old Lucky Three Square Pylons.
Bicycles are simply the most efficient form of transport. They produce no waste and improve our health and wellbeing. If we all used a bike to get to work and visit friends and family or went on cycling holidays instead of road trips, it would have an immediate and profound effect on our fossil fuel use and contribution to climate change.
Finally, as if all this is not compelling enough, cycling just 10km each way to work, once a week, instead of driving saves about $926 and 304kg of greenhouse gases each year.
Its sometimes just simply about saving yourself, if you dont who will. I have lyrics 'Que sara sara, whatever will be will be, the future is not ours to see' tattooed on me and that is something i feel is so worthy to be inbedded in my skin and mind.....Whatever will be will be, so let it be what it is. Save yourself, and save your mind, save your heart, and dont ponder on the lies... give yourself a reason to be strong a reason to carry on, call on that inner strength and be the person who is worth saving... as you as am I, are awesome!!

I have been feeling a lot like this lately and I decided to make a photo out of it. A lot of people can probably relate to this and I know that everyone went through this at some point in their lives. I wanted to transfer this feeling into an image that would reflect how it feels and put it in something visual.
Thanks to my dad for pressing the button because I left remote at home, and a timer would definitely not work in this situation, given that my camera could get wet.

"Água" foi um grande desafio porque trabalhei pela primeira vez um still
tendo como recurso um smartphone. Segundo por escolher trabalhar diretamente com gelo ao invés de produzir um mockup como é de costume.
A idéia foi pensada de forma simples, consistindo em chamar a atenção para a economia de
um bem natural que preocupa a população mundial e discutida insistentemente sobre formas de se evitar o fim do mesmo.
Através da semiótica, "Save or Die" pede por consciência na utilização da água ao mesmo tempo induz o espectador a pensar sobre o motivo dos objetos estarem esculpidos dentro fragmentos que lembram rochas em processo de descongelamento.
Pelo lado estético, a sutileza da informação se confunde com proposta de criar esculturas em gelo, trazendo o lado artístico para o ensaio, nem por isso, deixando de lado a mensagem.
O processo de reutilização da água esteve presente nesse ensaio. Todas as fotos utilizaram a mesma água. Um processo que durou uma semana.
Não lave tanta roupa, não use tanto a mangueira, não se demore ao banho.....
O que fazer agora? Economizar!

1° de febrero, Día Mundial del Galgo. El día que termina la temporada de caza y comienza su sufrimiento.
Cada año nacen en España miles de galgos, criados sólo para cazar. Un "deporte" que implica mucho dinero y tan pronto como termina la temporada, los galgueros (cazadores) se deshacen masivamente de los perros que ya no necesitan tirándolos a pozos profundos, golpeados hasta morir o colgándolos en un árbol.

Se calcula que en España, cada año, unos 60.000 galgos son desechados por cazadores una vez finalizada la temporada de caza, lo que los convierte en la raza canina más maltratada de nuestro país. Los motivos principal de abandono o exterminio de los galgos españoles son: por no haber sido buenos cazadores durante la temporada, por ser “viejos” (entre los dos y tres años de vida), por fracturas óseas, por síntomas de cansancio de enfermedades como la erlichia y la filaria o por no poderlos (o quererlos) mantener hasta la siguiente temporada de caza.
The Spanish greyhound, or galgo, is one of the most persecuted dog breeds. Galgos are used to hunt hares in the Spanish countryside. They spend their lives in damp, tiny, dirty holes or windowless shacks deprived of daylight, exercise and affection. They are typically fed only water and stale bread. At the end of the hunting season, countless are disposed of or abandoned.
Sadly, the galgo's native land still views it as a second-class animal and few Spaniards will own them as pets. They are bred carelessly and used for hunting by galgueros (galgo handlers). At the end of the hunting season in Spain, the galgos deemed worthless or too costly to maintain are destroyed in a variety of inhumane ways — including being hanged, dumped into abandoned wells, shot, and even burned to death.
The lucky ones are rescued by a handful of shelters in Spain, operated by dedicated individuals. Almost all of the resources to help the dogs come from outside of Spain, namely the US, UK, Belgium, Denmark, France, Holland, Italy and Germany.
There are a handful of Spanish shelters dedicated to saving the galgos and other unwanted animals of Spain. Although more and more galgueros are willing to give their unwanted dogs to the shelters, the abuse and torture of galgos continues. Organizations like GRIN are dedicated to the welfare of the Spanish galgo and sighthounds worldwide, and assist the Spanish shelters with adoption, veterinary care, and fundraising.

'Save Brixton Arches' is a campaign (and petition) started by independent traders and businesses in the railway arches in Atlantic Road and Station Road in Brixton, London, to stop their eviction.
Their landlord, Network Rail in partnership with Lambeth Council propose to evict over 30 units in order to complete the facelift that will take for over a year. Once completed, tenants will face a huge rent increases of around 300% which they will not be able to afford.
Generations of these families have served this diverse community , some for over eighty years, and have shaped Brixton's character.
As part of the campaign, shutters on all of the shops now display some amazing graffiti art.
