Located this beautiful Sea Lion near the fish wier in Valdez Alaska. There were three Sea Lions feeding close to the shore, this one being the middle of the three.
The Sea Lion would pick the salmon up and shake it vigorously until the fish would break in half. I couldn't tell, but I believe after it broke in half, it would eat the eggs.
The red dots coming out of the salmon are eggs.
There were thousands of salmon at the fish wier waiting for their turn to swim upstream. Unfortunately, for many, their fate was the same as the one in this photo.
There were also Harbor Seals nearby eating the salmon as well as Sea Otters.

No,.. it's impossible to associate such delicate animals with something so dramatic as an apocalypse. But their fragile habitat is in jeopardy by the pollutants we dump in our waters.

Found this seal swimming along a channel, really close to where the photo was taken of a spotted seal sitting on the sea ice this spring. Could be the same one, who knows? The sky was overcast, the ocean was murky, it was cool and windy, but seeing this seal brightened up my day.
The Spotted seal weigh around 200 lbs but can weigh up to 240lbs. They are found in the Arctic regions of Alaska's north coast.

Taken in Valdez Alaska, this fine looking male sea lion couldn't take his eyes off of my wife. She was sitting on the rocks by the inlet and he would swim by and just stare at her. My wife thinks he wanted to invite her in for dinner.
Just love the expression on his face, it's almost as if he is begging to come home with us. I think if we had a big swimming pool and a stash of salmon at home, my wife would have obliged! She loves all animals and she fell in love with this guy. Seen him near Valdez eating and showing off to us.

We were sitting on the rocks in Valdez Alaska watching the wildlife swim and fly by us in the ocean. There was a curious Sea Lion that gave us our own private show for quite a while. We were sitting maybe 15 feet from the water and the Sea Lion would venture right up to the rocks and look at us as he swam by. In this photo, a salmon swims by the Sea Lion as he was looking at us on the rocks.
On this day, there were about 15 Sea Lions in the area, one otter that we seen, and quite a few harbor seals.
Beauty and the Beast: A quick morning walk on the beach today under a beautiful sky, however the tide had brought in an unusually large amount of debris and plastic and I’m afraid to say that the Beast needs to change. Needs to stop filling our oceans with waste, stop dropping litter, stop using single use plastic and start caring for this Beauty that is our planet. #planetearth #saveourplanet #saveouroceans #cleanup #change #starthere

The Ocean March— a parade of boats, was hosted by the office of the Mayor of New York City as a mark of solidarity with the drive to protect the oceans, a day before the historic Ocean Conference (June 5-9) at the United Nations in New York, to renew momentum towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14, ‘Life Below Water’. #saveouroceans © UNDP / Freya Morales
