I love it when a advertising billboard is removed to reveal an old ghostsign, especially when its a billboard featuring quackery.
Revealed is an ad for Liptons Tea.
The 2 images are 31 months apart and it reveals more lovely dull detail, like the changing street furniture and how much the shop window prints have faded.
New Chimney pots have not sprouted, this is down to me standing to far back in the new image. I think...

I don`t hang the laundry often enough. I may do it more often to cut back on the hydro bill.
Not really a thrilling weekend here, but I will get through it. Always do.
βGoing Potty Recyclingβ. We move from the house to the Greenhouse for todays shot of the day. Youβll note that the Tomatoes are in Jills Cherry Yogurt pots (with added holes), I sow one seed in each pot to save potting on from a seed tray and also to make them easier to carry into the house at night. The Runner beans which I planted this morning are in home made pots made of Newspapers - these when ready will be planted in the ground without disturbing the roots. BTW - The greenhouse is a recycled Pig Shed done many moons ago!!! The usual reminder that we must STAY AT HOME to stay VIRUS FREE and to NOT be a vehicle to pass it on to others, Alan:-)
366 - Iβve decided to do this to force me to pick up a camera other than when we are away on our travels (they will be posted as normal) - I will be interested to see what transpires, they will be varied Iβm sure so weβll see where inspiration takes me over the course of the year, hopefully at the end of it I will be a better photographer. Feel free to critique as you see fit, but please donβt feel obliged, I anticipate they will not be to all tastes. Have a great year and if you also have embarked on a 365 project then good luck in seeing it through, Alan:-)

When possible, I try not to pay full price on my purchases. I tend to wait for air fare sales and travel deals. I usually only purchase clothes for me and my kids when they are on sale. And more recently, I’ve challenged myself to find ways to save money on school lunches as well. So here...

10 Ways for Entrepreneurs to cut Expenses
Young entrepreneurs always lack experience when starting and running a business. Though they may be high on expertise, but due to management inefficiencies, most end up spending a lot of money. Cutting down expenses becomes extremely valuable if they want to keep their business and make a reasonable profit out of it. Here, are 10 ways that will help entrepreneurs cut down expenses:
Being a reseller of Gently used jeans , my job is to sell sell sell !
However I am a GREEN Eco saleswoman before I could ever feel comfortable making money myself.
If your jeans can be recycled, PLEASE do so !
In the months to come, it will be in our best intrests as a country to SAVE instead of BUY, but if there's absolutely NO hope left for your jeans then we suggest buying gently used jeans from a "GENTLY USED" seller or dealer, at yard sales or even thrift stores.
Don't buy NEW ... Why pay $60 - $200 for a pair of jeans that are basicly GENTLY USED after they've been worn and washed just once.
In this post, I wanna give all of you some quick ideas on recycling your old jeans instead of throwing them away, which by the way fills up our landfills unnessesarily.
Did you know that each person in the world throws away 68 pounds of used and even new clothes each and every year ?
I'll admit, I've always been a "t-shirt and jeans" gal. Frankly, nothing makes me happier than a comfy pair of jeans paired with a basic white shirt and some sneakers.
Maybe it is a pre-mid life crisis, but lately I've grown tired of looking like I walked out of a Gap commercial. It's time to spice things up a bit.
Thankfully, I was able to consult with two of my favorite frugal fashionistas (my cousins) during our holiday get-together. Trust me, these gals could give the folks at Project Runway a run for their money. My college aged cousin (Ally) always looks great on an extremely limited budget. Her older sister (Diane) is a Stay at Home Mom yet she looks like she walked out of the pages of "Thrifty Vogue" - if there was such a magazine.
They are crafty, artsy and clever. They always make the best of what they have on-hand and look great.
So I decided to pick their brains a bit and share the tips with you. "How can I look better on a "t-shirt and jeans budget?" I asked.
I fell in love with the first idea the moment Ally walked in. She was wearing an adorable pair of jeans decorated with plaid patches. She told me that she had torn her favorite pair of old jeans and rather than tossing them she grabbed a cheese grater and created a few more holes. Then she took various fabrics she'd collected and patched the holes (from the inside). While many of you may not be crazy about the "torn jeans" look, I can assure you that it made an otherwise boring pair of jeans bright and stylish.
I complained that many of my old jeans were too short and didn't fit well anymore. Diane suggested that I cut the bottoms off of the jeans and add a "cuff" made of vintage lace. She added that you can make adorable capri pants this way too. Simply cut the bottoms off below the knees and add a fun fabric or lace "border" to them
Another way to liven up a plain white t-shirt is to add a little art. Have you noticed how vintage advertising, rock-band logos and artistic t-shirts are all the rage this Spring? If you are reading this, you have the technology at your fingertips to make your own trendy tee. My cousin loves making unique shirts for her boys using images she finds on the internet. Do an images search on Google and print the graphic onto iron-on paper. You can also find creative commons files (free for personal use) on websites like Flickr.com and Morguefile.com.
Personally, I love the vintage advertising created by the US Government and thankfully all of these images are considered public domain (like the classic Rosie the Riveter "We Can Do It" ad). Why not find a black and white picture of a vintage race car or airplane and add it to your son's white shirt? The internet images and the possibilities are endless. Even if you are trying to liven up your style a bit, you don't need to toss them out just yet. Get creative, save money and create a style that is all your own.

Are short term health insurance plans junk?
Don't believe the hype.
Short Term Health Insurance provides coverage in case of accidents and llness for a defined period of time, often with a much lower monthly premium than other forms of major medical health insurance. There are two advantages of Short Term Health Insurance.
First, you can use your Short Term Health Insurance plan to pay for services from any doctor or hospital (any willing provider). Yes, you can keep your doctor!
Second, Short Term Health Insurance plans have no Open Enrollment restrictions, so you can apply for one any time of the year. You will be notified within minutes if your application is approved, and you can use your coverage as early as the next day.
Short Term Health insurance fills in the gaps. Whether youβve recently lost a job and are awaiting insurance from the next, want to see the practitioner of your choice, are going through a transition and need coverage for a set period of time, or youβve fallen into the affordability gap Short Term Health insurance is a flexible, affordable solution. For example, a 29 year old woman making $43,000 per year in South Florida would pay approximately $3,000 per year for a bronze-level ACA planβ also referred to as βobamacareβ. For less than $2,000 per year she can purchase a 12-month Short Term Health Insurance plan with a smaller deductible ($5,000 v. $7,900) and save over $1,000 per year.
If you donβt enroll for ACA health insurance during the Open Enrollment Periodβwhich usually runs from early November to mid December each yearβ you wonβt be able to purchase one unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Certain life events such as losing health coverage, getting married or moving will qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period.
In contrast, you can enroll in a Short Term Health Insurance plan at any time during the year and receive coverage as soon as the next day.
Who Should Consider Short Term Health Insurance?
This question is better answered by addressing who should not consider Short Term Health Insurance. Short Term plans arenβt for everyone. People with certain chronic conditions, poor health, or complex medical needs are often better served by an ACA or large employer-sponsored health plan plan, both of which offer benefits for numerous conditions including mental health and maternity needs. Additionally, people who have had a significant health event or medical condition in the past five years may have a hard time finding a Short Term Health Insurance plan that will accept them or provide coverage for their pre-existing condition. Even if you donβt need the breadth of coverage an Obamacare plan offers, if the idea of 10 essential minimum benefits is reassuring, then an ACA plan is likely a better fit for you.
How Is Short Term Health Insurance Different From Obamacare?
Affordable Care Act plans have broader benefits than those found in Short Term Health Insurance plans and, without the premium subsidies available to some qualified purchasers, they cost much more than Short Term Health Insurance plans.
As mentioned before, all ACA health plans must have the 10 essential health benefits. Short Term Health Insurance plans, in comparison, do not have a standardized set of benefits. Short Term Health Insurance plans usually offer what would be described as streamlined major medical coverage that covers healthcare costs in the event of accidents and illnesses. Most Short Term Health Insurance plans also cover doctor visits for routine illnesses and injuries.
The chart below details some of the major benefit differences between Short Term Health Insurance and Affordable Care Act plans. It is important to note that Affordable Care Act plans do not deny care for pre-existing conditions nor do they reject applicants based on health problems. In addition, statesβ rules regarding Short Term Health Insurance are changing so while our chart is a general breakdown, always read your plan brochure before selecting your plan.

Make your own laundry soap, and save money, resources, and time suffering from allergies.
One recipe yields 180 loads in a top loader, and 640 loads in a front loader for only a few bucks.
Ingredients & supplies:
- Either a 4oz bar of soap (melted), or 4oz of Dr. Bronner's liquid castille (don't pick something heavily-scented).
- 1 c. Washing Soda
- 1/2c. Borax
- Lots of hot tap water.
- 5 gallon bucket.
- Empty old laundry detergent bottle.
- Some sort of scooper, equivalent to either 5/8c. (for a top loader) or 1/4c. (front loader).
Fill 5 gallon bucket half full of hot top water. Add melted bar of soap or liquid castille, borax, and washing soda slowly, stirring the entire time. Fill to top with more hot tap water, and let sit overnight.
The next day, fill up your old laundry detergent bottle half with the mixture, and half with water. Shake before use.
Plan your family insurance more reasonable. The proper limit of family insurance should be 10 times of your family annual income, and the reasonable proportion of the premium should be 10% of the family annual income. If your financial stress is heavy, you can purchase some critical sickness insurance which has a large amount of insurance, or accident insurance.
