jaguar female at north pantanal at Brazil.

Grizzled Giant Squirrel of Shenbaga Thoppu

The Grizzled Giant Squirrel is the main tourist attraction of the Shenbaga Thoppu Wildlife Sanctuary in Tamilnadu. The colour of these squirrels are grey or brown or a greyish brown. The average weight of this particular squirrel varies from one to two kilograms. The Grizzled Giant Squirrel is as big as a cat and is about 735 mm. tall from the tip of its nose to the tip of its tail. The tail is usually 360 to 400 mm. long. These Grizzled Giant Squirrels build up drays at forked branches in the joining crowns of two trees standing side by side. This helps the Grizzled Giant Squirrel to run away from danger quickly by jumping from one tree to another. The average home area of a Grizzled Giant Squirrel is roughly between two to six square metres.

On the street, there is real autumn weather, from the very morning fog covered the city, it was necessary to go in search of shots, passing by the village, beauties were grazing in the meadow, it was scary to approach, nevertheless we got along and even arranged a photo session.

This Gibbon is in a tiny cage filled with rubbish and it's own faeces is not surprisingly very sad and often sick. I bring him bananas whenever I can but it's just not good enough. More has to be done.

Save animals and Animals will save you.

Most people in there ignorance or trying to boost there own ego end up harming animals.. especially the wild once. The story of this lovely langur is a similar one. Because people used to stop on the highway and feed the animals, its thinking everyone passing by may offer food.. so they try to come near any vehicles passing by and they end up getting killed by speeding vehicles or by poachers. Please do not feed wild animals; there is a reason why forest officers put those “do not feed me” sign boards near national parks.

A human being treated cruelly, has been equated to treatment ‘like an animal’, since long, perhaps, based on an underlying assumption, or one dare say, value, that it is acceptable for a human to treat animals cruelly. The incident with the pregnant elephant in Kerela, most likely than not, is an embodiment of such value. It’s imperative for a human who treats an animal ‘like an animal’, to be incriminated in the same manner as a human treating another human ‘like an animal’, in our statutes.

We found this injured Langoor in the Bandipur forest region, on the way to Ooty. The sad part is, these animals are more on the road than in the forest, its bcoz people who pass by this route have made a habit of feeding these animals & they think they r doing a gr8 favour. PLS DONT FEED THEM. u never know when they will loose their life, DONT BE CAUSE FOR IT.

Thanks to Akshath for bringing this awareness in me :)

Our kids went into the wild under their new exploration venture and got to know about the majestic animal that the tiger is.

Sadly, its population is dwindling due to habitat loss and poaching but our kids are positive that they will spread as much awareness as possible and get these beautiful animals back and roaring in the wilds.

Animals are creatures to beautiful our life/world. They are not possessions to keep/throw away.

Hence, do not get a dog/cat/bird/whatever if you cannot make a long term commitment like a marriage.

They do have feelings. They are more vulnerable and their life/soul is on our hands.

Please do evaluate your living situations on a long term basis before making the move.

Being an animal lover, plus growing up with a dog in the house, I hesitate to get a dog since I do not think my living situation would provide him/her the best care/love.

Try to imagine their feeling once given to the animal rescue. If you can make a commitment, please consider saving those animals from the pounds. They are worth a lot more, beautifying your life while given them another chance of human love/companionship.

Peace

World ElephantDay is to honour one of the most majestic and grandiose creature that walk on #earth. The day is to spread awareness about the critical threats they are facing and make efforts to ensure their magnificent walk continues to inspire awe in the coming times.
