And this time, we have shopped for supplies for back to school, and has the dreaded 2-year-old Cheap Impact decor package, that could have made this Wal-Mart the last in the Piedmont Triad to be remodeled to the dreaded charade before Black Decor came to revive the nostalgia.
For this wild ride into a Wal-Mart back in 1999, this Supercenter in Winston-Salem was your usual red, blue and gray Wal-Mart Supercenter of the 90s! Interior-wise, it's usually the white-gray walls with the blue stripe, with the 1990s red Wal-Mart decor package, commonly found in the 1990s. A few years later, possibly 2001-2002, they might receive the remodel to the big, patterned, oval-elipse, rectangular Futura font signs!
Surprisingly enough, this store reverted back to the blue and grey look, but without the red, with the arrival of Black Decor 2.2....

Around 2000, when this store opened, this Vision Center also opened for eye exams, choosing the right glasses and heck, people looking at the signage and decor the Vision Center has! Prior to being horribly Impacted, the Vision Center had a sign that is a logo that looked like a blue eyebrow and a yellow eyeball, in blue and yellow! Hopefully the new Black Decor 2.0. Vision Center sign will pay homage to the famous Vision Center "Eye" logo!
And this concludes the Concord Wal-Mart photoset! Now back to your Food Lion stuff!

Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2000-built, Concord Commons Place, Concord, North Carolina
It had only a so-so selection of model cars with nothing I couldn't get at any other Wal-Mart, but it had a huge clearance toy section that was three or four aisles.
This Wal-Mart is similar to the one in Kirkland, Quebec, as it has the McDonald's in the front of the store, to the right of the entrance (or left, if you're inside), with an external window.
Didn't unearth this until a day or two after posting this. From the 1985 West Memphis High School Yearbook: 500 W. Braodway, long known as the Meadowbrook Square shopping center, is quite large however, and all addressed as 500 W. Broadway.
So my guess that Walmart was at the end where Stage is now isn't 100% "Satisfaction Guaranteed", but the probability that's where it was is quite high methinks! At the other end is what looked to be an old Grocery store (Kroger!??).

...parked in front of the South Keys Wal-Mart.
The police car is empty, so I presume the officers were inside the store, perhaps to arrest a shoplifter.
Absolutely unlike any other Wal-Mart you've ever seen... no, sorry, it's identical.
I didn't notice that Ford Crown Victoria police car at the right of the photo when I took it... if I had, I'm sure I would have snapped a picture or two of it.
This "mall" is a collection of the usual big box stores in Strandherd, in southern Nepean.
Stitched together in Autostitch.
This one is a real pain-in-the-butt to get to, as it's in a newly-developed area, south of the Ottawa Train Station, with no sidewalks and irregular bus service (in the evenings, at least).
