After our exploration of the picturesque village of Oia (Οία) on the island of Santorini (Σαντορίνη), Mike and I returned to our tour bus to head to the final stop on our trip -- the capital of Fira (Φηρά). But before we left, I took a few more photos near the area where our bus was parked -- including these charming little homes in the fields beyond the trees.
We spent a couple days on Santorini as part of a September 2013 trip to Greece.
Most of our first day on the island was spent in OIA walking and taking in the amazingly beautiful sight.

Getting from Santorini to Mykonos involved taking a 3 hour "Fast Ferry" ride. Ferry boats are the preferred way to get between islands as evidenced by the number of people getting on/off of these ships. We had assigned airplane type seats for the trip. Seats that were a lot bigger and more comfortable.
This is the view of FIRA as the ferry motored away. I should mention that we were not allowed outside while the ship was moving.
This was probably the best shot I got at trying to capture this unique place, also on the list of twelve places chosen by Lonely Planet to visit. My mistake was in thinking that I could see a lot in one day, no one cannot, you need at least three days, and I have been told June is the best time to visit.
