Santa Clara Island has some of the most interesting historical chapters. And it is that in addition to its classification as a Historic Center of National Interest, we must mention that the Island welcomed all those people who were infected by the plague that ravaged the city in 1597. The sick were sheltered in a small hermitage that was located in the same space in which today we find the lighthouse. High up on the island.

Cloister of Santa Croce, Florence
For two cloisters to the right of the church you can access the Pazzi Chapel and the Santa Croce Work Museum. The first, which extends along the side nave of the church, contains slabs and funerary stelae under a closed gallery. Several conventual buildings separate it from the Great Cloister, on the first floor, designed by Brunelleschi, but finished in 1453, seven years after his death. Although located in a popular neighborhood, it is quiet and peaceful.
A pair of former Santa Fe GP30s and a blue Southwestern Railroad GP40 sandwich a work train headed to Peru Hill to dump ties and rail for a siding project. The supplies were collected on the disused northern portion of the SW line near Hanover. After spending most of the day unloading in Peru Hill, the train made an evening run back to Hanover where it will remain until Friday for another southbound run.

Santa Barbara is the county seat of Santa Barbara County, California. Situated on a south-facing section of coastline, the longest such section on the West Coast of the United States, the city lies between the steeply rising Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Santa Barbara's climate is often described as Mediterranean, and the city has been promoted as the "American Riviera". As of the census of 2010, the city had a population of 88,410, a loss of 1,190 from the previous census, making it the second most populous city in the county after Santa Maria while the contiguous urban area, which includes the cities of Goleta and Carpinteria, along with the unincorporated regions of Isla Vista, Montecito, Mission Canyon, Hope Ranch, Summerland, and others, has an approximate population of 220,000. The population of the entire county in 2010 was 423,895.
In addition to being a popular tourist and resort destination, the city economy includes a large service sector, education, technology, health care, finance, agriculture, manufacturing, and local government. In 2004, the service sector accounted for fully 35% of local employment. Education in particular is well represented, with five institutions of higher learning on the south coast (the University of California, Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, Westmont College, Antioch University, and the Brooks Institute of Photography). The Santa Barbara Airport serves the city, as does Amtrak. U.S. Highway 101 connects the Santa Barbara area with Los Angeles to the southeast and San Francisco to the northwest. Behind the city, in and beyond the Santa Ynez Mountains, is the Los Padres National Forest, which contains several remote wilderness areas. Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary are located approximately 20 miles (32 km) offshore.
A faded Santa Fe warrior leads NS 210 across the FEC drawbridge in downtown Jacksonville. The train originated in Bowden yard, and is headed to Atlanta.

A pair of SPSF painted Santa Fe C30-7's and a pair of Burlington Northern C30-7's sandwich a Santa Fe SD40-2 as they hustle an empty Houston Power & Light coal train with UFIX initialed "bath tub" gons Northbound on Main #2 of the Joint Line at Larkspur in May of 1986.
Santa Fe FP45 #102 in "Super Fleet" paint heads up the hot Eastbound 891 train at Blue Cut in Cajon Pass in October of 1989. Two of the trailing engines are still painted up in the failed SPSF merger scheme.
The valley of Santa Lucia comes down from Nago to Torbole, on the shore of Garda lake. Centuries ago the trade route through it was the main connection between the Garda lake region and the valley of Adige.
In 1439 Venetian army undertook there a famous challenge. As from the south their superior navy couldn't reach the Garda lake, they were sailing up the Adige river almost till Rovereto and then carried ships over the Passo San Giovanni and by the Santa Lucia valley down to Garda lake, where they defeated the army of Lombards.
