The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) continues to implement precautions in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). New York City Transit, MTA Bus, Access-A-Ride, Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North are significantly increasing the frequency and intensity of sanitizing procedures at each of its stations and on its full fleet of rolling stock. Trains, cars and buses will experience daily cleanings with the MTA’s full fleet undergoing sanitation every 72 hours. Frequently used surfaces in stations, such as turnstiles, MetroCard and ticket vending machines, and handrails, will be disinfected daily.

This is just one o the notes that would have been strange to get at work three months ago, but now seems normal....

Must sanitize everything! Yeah, that's the ticket.

During these early days of the Covid 19 pandemic, many shops have run out of rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer / sanitiser gel or lotion. A Toronto distiller called the Spirit of York in the heart of the tourist area Distillery District has added alcohol-based hand sanitizer to its product lines of whisky, gin and vodka. To ensure everyone can buy some, sales are limited to one (since then raised to two) bottles per person. They go for CAD $3 each (very reasonable) and all proceeds go to the Food Bank (a charity providing free food items to the poor) and hence, there is no sales tax too!

Members of the West Virginia National Guard's Task Force Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Enterprise (CRE) (TF-CRE), sanitize workspaces for the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission in Charleston, West Virginia, April 11, 2020. Utilizing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) environmental cleaning and disinfection recommendations, TF-CRE sanitized workspaces on multiple floors of the building, helping to combat the possible spread of COVID-19 and allowing employees to safely return to work developing and overseeing the public policy agenda for West Virginia's four-year colleges and universities. More experiments. This is a small centipede found under a board in my yard in Upper Marlboro, MD. It is possibly and immature, but am unsure of how to tell. Taken at 10x with our new lens sytem while floating in a cuvette filled with hand sanitizer.

The Domo's are getting ready for the rainy season here in Hawaii. I don't know where they got the idea to use hand sanitizer all over but all I could do was laugh and bust out the camera.

I made a fun slideshow video of 300 or so of my Domo shots. check it out here

I'm not sure if you noticed but the swine flu is on everyone's mind. The last I checked there were 12 confirmed cases in Northern California; the pandemic is pretty scary. I wanted to buy one of those hospital masks, and they were sold out at Target! The isle-stocker person said it was crazy how fast they went through them. I didn't even want one to protect my face from the flue, I just wanted to use it for photography purposes! (I really have issues...) My favorite type of movies are the Resident Evil and 28 Days Later type of movies so this is totally fascinating to me. World wide life threatening virus movies are all too realistic in my mind, if you've every read or seen the Stand then you can relate. Normally I'm not a germ-a-phobe, but I've been a little more cautious and have been sanitizing my desk more frequently. After watching the news all day long I do want to get a scrub down *shivers*...

While I didn't think to get an "after" view of the previous photo looking down toward Pet Care, here's Paper & Cleaning (next to Pet Care at least!), showing the removal of the classic Project Impact wall signage, with the wall now painted white, ready for it's black décor 2.0 makeover.

I am not a wedding photographer and do not hope to be one. Too much pressure! But I managed to get a few iPhone shots at this very special wedding. My youngest son brought a new daughter-in-law to our family and we couldn't be more proud. A sign of the COVID times - masks and hand sanitizer at the guest sign-in table. We do what we can to live life and keep everyone safe.

Honestly this past month I've also bought lots of alcohol myself...

These sanitizer stations were seen throughout the Jonesboro Sears. Looks like an "official" Sears sign as well.

Everyone is making such a big deal about this epidemic, so how could I not do a 365 about it? It's only a matter of time before this anti- Swine Flu hand sanitizer is an actual product that will sell like hotcakes.

The Canon 24-85mm lens allows me to have a great and affordable "everyday" zoom lens. Overshadowed by the 24-70mm lens, this lens offers great value. It also provides me with images that are not razor sharp. It gives me that "film" look.
