Climate activists gathered on June 14, 2023 at Brooklyn Borough Hall for a teach-in and art action highlighting successful initiatives implemented this year to combat the climate crisis, reduce consumers' energy expenses, and expose the obstructive climate hypocrisy of National Grid and ConEdison at both the city and state levels. The Brooklyn event coincided with more than 50 actions across the country, called by the People vs. Fossil Fuels coalition, in angry response to Bidenâs approval of the liquified natural gas (LNG) and Willow oil projects in Alaska and the debt ceiling deal that fast-tracks the Mountain Valley Pipeline. Art build for the Clean Energy march - Sane Energy Arts team were invited to make art for the inFRACKstructure contingent for the March For a Clean Energy Revolution. We have spent many hours having listening sessions from our grassroots colleagues on what messaging needs to be highlighted. Similar to our 50 foot United States of Fracking banner, we worked with legendary graphic novelist Seth Tobocman again to bring to life the story to life in a 13 part piece of art that will be carried high above the march to tell the story of fracking.

Over a thousand people including environmental justice, faith-based, youth, Indigenous, and civil rights groups, labor unions, frontline communities, and other justice-focused organizations, took to the streets for climate, jobs, and justice. The Long Island Climate March joined the tens of thousands marching around the country in solidarity with the People’s Climate March in Washington, D.C. on April 29, 2017. This event was the largest climate mobilization since the election, and marks the end of the first 100 days of the Trump Administration

Members of Beyond Extreme Energy (BXE) held an action outside the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) headquarters in Washington DC on June 25, 2018, as dozens of BXE members and allies rallied around two of their fellow activists who perched on platforms on bamboo "gas drilling rigs"​ and laying an inflatable pipeline on the street blocking the entrance to the driveway to FERC's employee parking lot from 7am to early afternoon, successfully preventing them from accessing the workplace. Cynthia Nixon, Candidate for NY Governor, held a press conference on July 13, 2018 with local community leaders calling on New York State to shut down the Spectra/Enbridge AIM Pipeline. The recently installed 42" diameter fracked gas pipeline, located within 105' of critical safety infrastructure of the aging and failing nuclear power plant. The site also holds 40 years worth of radioactive spent nuclear fuel in overcrowded and inadequate containers. Nixon urged New York Public Service Commission (PSC) to use authority delegated by Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to ensure the shut down of gas through AIM pipeline.
