Restart of my PAD didn't get off to a great start. Packed camera, lenses, double checked I had a memory card (I always forget that) then got to Formby and realised I had left the battery at home in the charger. Bah! So I had to use my iphone.

Climbing up the dunes, I was actually glad the camera was in the boot of the car and not on my back. Fab workout though, and a stunning place.

Tore the front spoiler clean off in the first 5 minutes. It looks better without it any way,

A perfect winter's day. A stay at the river cabins, then the next day horse riding, over dunes, through stream, under pohutakawa, then forest. Great guides, great horses.

The sun is now fully over the horizon and the colors have changed to harsher and flatter tones
