Sunrise on December Solstice. If I believe the weather reports I will not see a lot more of the sun on this shortest day of the year. Photographed during my morning run with my phone camera.
I fiddled around with the RAW files from my brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in Lightroom, and they are acceptable files. Nowhere near the files from a system camera, but still surpisingly good. Theres enough dynamics to recover details both in shadows and highlights. Its gonna be fun to experiment with the camera on this smart-device.
Freezing on the ground and around 2°C in the air... another morning, I wish I would have taken my Ricoh on my morning run, but even having the small Ricoh hanging off my running belt is somewhat disturbing when running, so my phone needs to do for this morning atmosphere.

We have a series of misty mornings here lately. While they are staple of London or especially British moors in a movies and books, they are quite regular here too, especially at autumn. And they can make for some great photos.
One of the main features of the Barrandov are its walkways under trees, weaving its way between apartment houses. As Barrandov is also home to Czech largest movie studios, some walkways have specifically built-in filmstrip from stone bricks which can lead you from so far best known square and community centre to shopping hub in the neighbourhood.
To wake up early in the morning and go to work can be a challenge many of us need to overcome much too often. Sometimes, however, there are sweet rewards - like option to take a picture of a lazy looking morning sun rising over a rain-refreshed summer city.
I usually not one to rush out early in the morning when I am not required to, but sometimes it is worth it to make an exemption. Like on a colourful september morning, when sun is rising over fall leaves. I admit it was dead cold and windy for my taste (and sure, it will be worse in winter) but it was also pretty magical morning walk, especially given it is still technically inside one of the renown Europe's capital cities.
A pretty kaleidoscope mandala made with the Mirror Lab app made a great background for the words proclaimed by the angels at the birth is Christ Our Messiah. Using KVAD Photo Studio Prop, I added the golden frame and sparkles.
I put the original image together using the Bible app by YouVersion. The link to the Scripture is...

There are some places in the middle of Prague which are pretty much no man's land – not because there would anarchy would rule there, but because despite the fact that they are in the middle of the city, there is just nothing there. No houses, no companies, no interesting nature. It is a place you often pass through, but stop at only when you are forced to. On one such occasion I made this picture of sun rising over an urban wasteland.
Barrandov Hill is one of the highest points of the entire Prague, so you have a nice view over large part of it from here. It was originally famous for its fossil-rich rocks (Trilobites and the like), studied by French geologist Joachim Barrande (hence the name). Today, it is most well known for Barrandov movie studios, which helped to make quite a few famous Hollywood blockbusters.
The initial charcoal sketch was done at the Potter Park Zoo in Lansing Michigan around 12 years ago. while sketching, a zookeeper told me that at the time this was the oldest lion in the U.S. I digitally reworked the sketch like the other zoo drawings in this series.

I though that we have no chance for some snow in Prague this Christmas, but at least on Three Kings I managed to get a photo of still standing Christmas tree and (admitedly very few) snowflakes. They were actually falling from the sky in the moment I took the photo, but only like two or three in a minute so I do not have in flight there.
The early bird catches the worm goes the saying - although the crow on this picture was likely looking for something much more interesting than simple worm. Crows are here for large part of the year very common and almost as impertinent as pigeons, so classic gothic picture of cathedral (or something similar) with flock of crows flying around it is actually not that hard to stage. You can also practically see than they have tendency for very wicked sense of humour.
Early morning. Stuck in traffic. Going to be late again. Thunderstom seems to be coming. Godzilla probably too. It is damn cold and every newbie out there apparently decided to drive the car just this morning. I see zombies on the sidewalks. Is it finally end of the world? Oh, no, just monday morning. So, business as usual.
