Hand Embroidered Sampler Says, Bless the Stove the Pots And Pans Bless the Cook With nimble Hands. Has pots, pams, flowers stove and women. Colors are blue, green, red, black and gold. This is a finished sampler that needs to be put in a frame. Measures 12 x 14 1/2.
This sampler was stitched by 12-year-old Emma Harrison in 1881. Emma was born in Northend Warwickshire. The sampler is in the possession of her granddaughter Mavis Potter.
This was a block of the month my guild did last year. It came from the book Rotary Cut Quilts, by Fons and Porter.
I was working away on this sampler when it became obvious I wasn't going to be able to finish it. Not enough thread. Since I am in a village in Larsen Bay and I bought the thread in Seattle, I'm going to have to wait until I get home. Oh well, I'll finish my kid's scarf that he's been waiting for.
I have completed nearly all of the blocks I've posted so far in the Test Your Skills Sampler. Just two to go, then I'm caught up.
