Same day at Hertford with Sandra and Kevin. There were two Mistle Thrushes who kept the Waxwings and Redwings away from the Berries and especially the Mistletoe on the nearby trees.

The evening sun has dropped, ISO has gone up around 4 stops and Ive lost 1/100 sec shutter speed 5 stops

This is were good glass and good camera support win that little edge...

Same camera (Ricoh FF3-AF) as the previous shot, but instead of pre-thunderstorm lighting here we have a nice crisp bright afternoon for the Kodak ColorPlus 200 to show itself off.

This is the same Bison calf featured a short while ago, with its protective mom. Again, I was shooting through gaps in the milling herd.

Winter comes with its predictable hassles - it can be too cold, too snowy, too icy, too bleak - but it also produces the best light of the year, from the bounced light effect of overcast skies and snow reflecting light off the ground, to warm rays from the low sun. The trick is to get out when there's exactly the right amount of cold, snow, ice, and bleakness. On this day, when I came upon the herd on both sides of the road (and in the middle of it), the balance was exactly right.

Same photo but utilising multiple shots at different focal points, and blended as a stacked photo in photoshop. I think it is much better. There is an excellent article in Digital Photography School about focus stacking. All new territory for me.

its done i guess...idk..ill clean it up eventually..it tears apart, not like a real one, but enough so you can mod it to your pleasure, hope ya like...no white shapes..and one note too read it please

Same trees as yesterday, with varying subject placement and crop. Birds don't generally give framing options, so it's nice to find a subject that allows exploration of placement. TBH, I think that all of these are attractive options.
