Jipapad, Eastern Samar. 5 1/2 hours by boat upriver.

I went straight to the office from Tacloban on Monday. This meant that I actually had the chance to take photos during my route. Thing is, the weather did not cooperate for much of the week which meant that my camera spent most days in my bag. Just sharing some of the photos that I was able to take.

On our way back to Catbalogan, I was able to get a glimpse of a point where I can get a "bird's eye view" of the whole city. You could possibly take a shot of the mountain and the sea that surround the city. Hopefully I'll be able to go there this Sunday!

The whole Samar team of FDC had their team building in a beach that's about 30 minutes away from Catbalogan. Had a great time with my group during the day long event! I also had my fill of lechon then. One lechon for lunch and another lechon for dinner! Fatty delights. Hahaha!

I also had the chance to talk to one of the VPs in our distributor. According to him, anyone who can sell in Samar can sell anywhere in the Philippines. He also mentioned that all the CMTs who were previously assigned in the region have already gone quite far in the company. I'm hoping my future in the company turns out the same! :D

Truly, Samar is a thrill-seeker's paradise with its rugged terrain, lush forest, wild rivers and pristine coastlines. I love its unspoiled beauty that conceals adrenaline-pumping offerings and accompanied by the friendliest people.

Samar truly sparks my physical, mental and spiritual being.

This big yacht (Samar) passing by on the river this morning, coudn't resist taking a picture of it from our balcony.

The Sohoton Caves and Natural Bridge Park is a protected natural area about 841 hectares and a tourist attraction within the Samar Island Natural Park. The natural park features caves, subterranean rivers, waterfalls, limestone formations, thick forest and a natural stone bridge. It is just a small portion of the Samar Island National Park covering the 3 provinces namely Northern Samar, Eastern Samar and Samar (formerly Western Samar). The entire area is 455,700 hectares, home of the various wildlife, rivers and cave connections. It is located at Brgy. Guirang, Basey and has an area of approximately 840-hectares. First established as the Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park in 1935, it was then renamed as the Sohoton Cave Natural Park, and finally to the Sohoton Cave and Natural Bridge.

Caluwayan Palm Island Resort & Restaurant is an ideal eco-tourism oriented resort designed to fit as a perfect alternative place of relaxation in Marabut, Western Samar, being surrounded by a breathtaking view of towering rock islands and islets with secluded coves and coral gardens, truly a paradise for scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, sailing, swimming, sun-bathing or simply lazing on the beach enjoying the view of the beautiful seascape of the bay.

in Lola Pinay's renovated house. Over a century old.

I had the chance to walk around the city streets today to see what places I can go to or eat in. I realized that there isn't really much activity in the areas I walked in. I'll probably go for another walk next week to go to the other streets!

I was amused by the printing place that I went to. It was just a small stall by the street with a couple of printers and two computers. They offered all sorts of services from printing, scanning, video editing, and even song remixing! I'm thinking of asking them to remix one random song just to see what they do with it and so that I'll have some sort of souvenir.

I was quite pleased to see a Mercury Drugstore quite close to the Jollibee around the corner. I got myself a small bottle of mosquito repellant for this week's route as well as a pack of quadratini for some room snacking! Mmm.. :)

Sharing some shots I took from the previous work week. I had the chance to stop in a few areas by the roadside to take a few quick snaps of the different views. The countryside over here is just really breathtaking! The nature of my assignment over here also helps a lot since I start my route a few minutes after sunrise and end just before sunset. My weekly route takes me to a variety of areas from the mountains to the seaside. Pretty happy with these! :D
