Thanks to the water coming from Dolpo, there is lots of cultivated fields in Samar. Notice the gignatic wall around all the fields, protecting the cultures form the appetite of the goats.
Samar Spitting Cobra from my Dangerous Reptiles workshop yesterday. This fab little lady was so laid back and only hooded up when she was moved from one case to another as she wondered what was going on! A beautiful but highly dangerous snake.

Stuffed vine leaves is a very time consuming recipe but so delicious. Samar would spend over 2 hours preparing the filling, rolling each leaf and then another hour or more to cook. She taught me how to make these in her gentle and patient way. I felt so at home in her kitchen and with the family, the hussle and bussle of conversations, laughter and a close family nucleus. I miss Samar, her warm smile and her delicious food.....
