The Sam Rayburn House in Bonham, Texas. Sam Rayburn served for many years as the Speaker of the House in the United States House of Representatives.
This selection of photos is currently work in progress. After building my Raspberry PI powered Spectrum+ I decided I wanted to do the same for my Sam Coupe. However there was no way I was going to destroy an original SAM!
So I decided to try and build one from scratch using my 3D printer. Still a lot of work to do but it is taking shape.
Will all be powered by a Raspberry Pi running the SimCoupe emulator.
Keep checking back for more updates!
Hung out with my friend Sam today. Didn't take to many pictures but I snapped this one with my new 50mm f/1.4.
I sold my 24-70 2.8. I just love prime lenses. Bought an iPhone, 50mm and a longboard.
Big news! I got asked to be a photographer for my school. Shooting things like pep rallies, football games and other school events. I'm so excited. I'm planing on picking up a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 Non IS soon as well as the 35L.
Exciting stuff going on.
Natty light!
Located in a National Historic District near the center of Pulaski, TN, the museum stands almost on the spot where the "Boy Hero of the Confederacy" was executed on November 27, 1863. Captured behind enemy lines with damaging information in his possession, Davis faced death by hanging rather than betray his source. The museum contains Civil War memorabilia as well as leg irons worn by young Sam Davis. The Museum is maintained by the Giles County Historical Society by Appointment Only. The actual spot of the execution is marked with a simple stone marker.
The day before I found this museum, which is tucked away in a residential neighborhood, I found a post card of this place place in an antique store in the town of Cowan.

My son sat in the living room playing with his Lego and agreed to let me try out shooting with snoots on my flash. Storbist info: He is sitting on the floor with 1 x sb800 with a card snoot about 1/2' long attached firing at 1/2 power. There is a second, sb600 on the floor behind him with a 2" snoot aiming up at his head, again on 1/2 power. Flashes fired by CLS. 1/200 @ f22, along with the snoots restricting the light gives the black background in what was a brightly lit room. B&W added in LR, black border added in PSCS4.

I like the "family album" idea that Gale brought up the other day.
This little fella in need arrived the day after Stubby disappeared. Looking at that dear face, one could believe they were twins. He, too, was smart enough to come where he could get help. When Sam arrived, he had injuries to both of his hind feet and legs. He is still reluctant to put weight on the right side.
Sam has taken over the outdoor hidey-hole and he has taken up the habit of joining me each morning expecting breakfast while the rest of the coon clan snooze the day away. At night, this tiny guy takes up his post closest to the door and vigorously and vocally defends it. He lets everyone know that he is Special and gets the royal treatment. It is sweet the way the others, especially, the adults allow him his scrappy bluff and back off. He really is a sweet fella and Peggy's friend.
