Was my mum and Dads Diamond Wedding last week, and we had a party on Saturday. I didn't take that many pics in the end (best intentions...), but I'll upload a few as I process them.
First up, a suited Sam. So cute.
Our dog, Sam, has to go in the Diary this year, as he is one of our fave things!! He's a collie cross dog, who we adopted in August 2000 from a Rescue Centre. We don't know his age exactly, but when the vet checked him over and microchipped him he thought he was about 2 back then - so that makes him about 14 now!! He's in pretty good health, although his breathing can be a big noisy, especially in the summer when it's warm. The vet checked him over, and told us his heart and lungs are ok, but it's likely he suffers from larangeal paralysis, which also sometimes affect his back legs.
He's a great companion and we all love him lots~!

And this road is near the water and you can walk for hours...

fun fact: the day before, Alec went snowboarding. Within 24 hours he was snowboarding then at the beach.

I felt that my flickr stream was oddly devoid of my most important project - my son! This is Sam. He was born in november last year, so quickly approaching the one year mark! My life has pretty much been turned upside down since we got pregnant, learning a lot about being a parent and partner. Not always easy, but man - so fulfilling.
The pregnancy was pretty standard, I think. Jennifer had trouble with pelvic girdle pain, and the actual birth was exhausting for all three of us, but after a few months of recovery we're an actual family. It's weird and awesome to think about. Right now I'm enjoying the liberal parental leave we have here in Sweden, so I'm taking care of Sam full time for about 8-9 months. After a month I can say it's a fantastic experience to get so much time with your kid.
Naturally, LEGO and other hobby time has been limited. I haven't been in my studio that much. As a subsitute I began building Brick Insights, a LEGO review aggregator, to have some LEGO related hobby to do on the fly. Since it's a digital project it's a lot easier to whip out the computer and hack away for half an hour or so when he's asleep compared to clicking together physical bricks. Currently in beta, but making constant progress. Check it out if you haven't, and give me any feedback you might have.
Anyway, just wanted to share the biggest thing in my life. Sam's awesome to be with, and I'm extremely fortunate to be his dad. Love you, son.
