This is another location that has eluded me in the past. When a location does that, I stalk it. I drove past this location, the State Capitol, several times to be sure I caught the bloom this time. I had to make three trips, but it worked. This image is a pano to capture the entire entrance mall area. Most of the images taken here tend to crop significantly because the scene is so wide, so I thought I would embrace that and go with a panorama. So please enjoy this image, because it's about the only good thing coming out of the State Capitol.

Historical cemetery near McConnell,IL. This was actually the site of a one room schoolhouse as well as a cemetery.The school was moved in 1975 after being used as the local American Legion Hall for many years. A veteran of the Revolutionary War is buried in the cemetery in back. There is an interesting memorial on the site about the soldier,William Shippee,and the history of the site....

Salem is the capital of the U.S. state of Oregon, and the county seat of Marion County. The first people of European descent arrived in the area as early as 1812; they were animal trappers and food gatherers for the fur trading companies in Astoria, Oregon. In 1851, Salem became the territorial capital after it was moved from Oregon City. The capital was moved briefly to Corvallis in 1855, but was moved back to Salem permanently that same year.

( This name came from the Salem TV series. Salem character was a talking cat, living with witches :) )

I am a one year old tom-cat. I was born in Napanee, Ontario at the trailer park. *OSPCA workers found me there and took care of me. Later they placed me at the PetSmart store, so I could find a new family. However, I ran away, taking with me some toys. For a short time, I lived close to the store and visited it to get my meals. OSPCA ladies took care of me again and after the vet's check-up, I was sent to OSPCA facility close to Toronto. Let me tell you, it is one of the most luxurious shelters. A new family found me there and I was adopted.

I am a very energetic, playful and loving boy. I adapted quickly and found endless love.

I was cleaning out unedited files from a folder and organizing them when I realized I really wanted to add some more of these to the album. I don't know about you but usually on a big chase day where you shoot 500 frames I end up with a dozen at best I choose to edit and share. But this was one of those days where the ratio was more like 50% instead of 2%...it was just that good of a day! There aren't many of those in this hobby so why not?!

Anyway, the winter of 2021-2022 didn't yield any plow trains of any sort for me so here is a look back to a spectacular day spent along those magical Washington County rails of a railroad that should need no introduction.

Getting ready to start a day of plowing out the Batten Kill Railroad mainline to Eagle Bridge, SNEX 5012 (an ex Atlantic & Danville Alco RS36 blt. 12/59) has been fired up on the Carovail spur where she normally rests with out of service RS3 605 (Alco blt. Nov. 1950 as Lehigh and Hudson River number 10). The cab roofs offer a hint as to how much snow had fallen on the region the prior couple days.
