The Freightliner Sprinter is just a rebadged Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The rebadge is facilitated by the fact that both Mercedes and Freightliner exist under the Daimler umbrella.

The Freightliner makes sense as an acquisition for a fleet like the NYPD, since the idea of a government acquiring Mercedes-badged vehicles (seen almost exclusively as prestigious luxury vehicles here in North America) might invite some public outcry. The Freightliner variant allows the NYPD to get all the benefits of the Sprinter without the badge issues.

Still going strong in 2022.

One of the newer additions to the fleet in Jamaica, this unit was probably part of the batch handed over to the JCF in 2020.
