Saturday began with the March to Pridefest organized by NW PA Pride Alliance. The step off was at the Zone Dance Club. Parade units included NW PA Pride Alliance, Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, Temple Anshe Hesed, LBT Women of Erie, Erie Democratic Coordinated Campaign, General Electric Transportation GLBTA Alliance, Ladyfest Erie, Northwestern High School GSA, Eerie Roller Girls, TransFamily of NWPA Transgender Support Group, and Community United Church. There were 152 people in the parade.

The next day, Sunday, August 28, NWPA Pride Alliance held Pride Day at Waldameer Park and Waterworld. About 100 people attended.
On June 24, 2017, Erie celebrated 25 years of Pride events with the 2017 Erie Pride March and Fest. It is estimated that about 750 people attended the festivities. Both local TV crews as well as the Erie Times News covered the event. MIC.com was back again this year to cover Erie Pride as part of the “Small City, Big Pride” series for Google.
About 270 people marched in the Pride Parade, which stepped up from the Zone Dance Club. Parade units included NW PA Pride Alliance, Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper (who was there with staff and her openly gay son, Nate), Trigon, LBT WOmen, GE Transportation GLBTA Alliance, COmmunity United Church, TransFamily of NW PA, Eerie Roller Girls, Keystone Progress, Shember for Mayor committe, Temple Anshe Hesed, Mcdowell High School GSA, Planned Parenthood od PA Advocates, Erie Feminists United, Erie Sisters and Brothers, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, Greater Erie Alliance for Equality, and Pennsylvania Equality Project.
Pride Fest in Perry Square began with a presentation to long standing LGBT groups in the region, including Identity, Erie Sisters and Brothers, Trigon, Erie Gay News, Drenched Fur, and LBT Women of Erie, as welll as a lifetime achievement award to Michael Mahler. Entertainment included Snarebear, Michelle Michaels, Jill Jamison, Misty Michaels Kall, sing Matrthew Crays, and the band Honest Mistake.
For the 4th consecutive year, Erie County Health Department and Community Health Net provided free HIV and STD testing. There were about 170 people in the parade.

Delta Foundation sent up a bus from Pittsburgh with about 40 people, who marched as a parade unit. Parade units included Erie Gay News, NW PA Pride Alliance, Erie Sisters, Community United Church, Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition, Amisha Tribal Belly Dance, Greater Erie Alliance for Equality (GEAE), Delta Foundation, Marriage Equality for Pennsylvania, PFLAG Erie and Crawford Counties, Persad Center and LBT Women. There were about 170 people in the parade.

After Pridefest, GEAE held an After Pride Party at the Bourbon Barrel that was attended by 100 people and which collected clothing items for SafeNet. The Zone Dance Club held an Island Heat Tropical Glow Party.
The next day, Sunday, August 28, NWPA Pride Alliance held Pride Day at Waldameer Park and Waterworld. About 100 people attended.

On Saturday,On Saturday, August 23, NW PA Pride Alliance held Erie Pride Fest. the day began with the Pride parade from the zone down to Perry square. About 150 people participated in the parade. Parade units included Erie Gay News, NW PA Pride Alliance, Inc., ACLU NW PA, Amisha Tribal Belly Dance, Marriage Equality for PA, Erie Sisters & Transgender Alliance of Western NY, Glass Growers Gallery, PFLAG Erie and Crawford Counties, PFLAG Butler, M & J’s Lounge, Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Erie, Unitarian Universalist Church of Meadville, LBT Women of Erie, Jamestown Pride Society, and Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition.
WJET TV 24/WFXP Fox 66 covered the event, as did Erie Times News. Photos of the NW PA Pride float with drag performers appears in the Erie Times News print edition and also online.
Grand Marshals were TJ and Wendy Titus. TJ also spoke at the Festival. Performers were Velvet Lace, Misty Kall, Michelle Michaels, and Rhiannon Angelina, Brit Soule, Amisha Tribal Belly Dancer, and Bob Bearfield. There was a record number of info tables and vendors. Info tables included Adagio Health, ACLU NW PA, Birth Essentials Doula Services, Community Health Net, Equality PA, Erie Sisters, First Niagara Bank, Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Jamestown Pride Society, Lake Erie Counseling Associates, Lillis, McKibben, Bongiovanni & Co, Marriage Equality for Pennsylvania, Mental Health Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania, NW PA NOW, NW PA Pride Alliance, Inc., Peace Corps, Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition, Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, SafeNet Center, Slippery Rock University Psychology Dept, Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Erie, and Wolf for PA. Vendors included Ellie Ghost, Lion’s Den Adult Super Store, Miche, Papyrusaurus, Rainbow Creations, Rainbow Family Expressions, Tastefully Simple, The CookieLady, and Wendy Titus, Independent Beauty Consultant (Mary Kay).
New this year was a Health Screening Pavilion, which was staffed by Community Health Net, Great Lakes Institute of Technology, and Erie County Department Of Health.testing included BMI, blood pressure, and oral HIV tesing. Thanks to Tom Pellitieri for the loan of the pavilion.

Erie Pride Parade & Rally a Great Time!

On Saturday, August 27, about 230 people participated in the Erie Pride Parade & Rally. This year’s Pride events were organized by the Pride Planning committee, which is an informal coalition of groups and individuals.
Parade
About 100 people marched in the parade from the Zone Dance Club to Perry Square. John Daly King was the Grand Marshal for the parade, in a convertible driven by Caitlyn. Also in the parade were beloved local gay icons Jesse and Ricardo, who rode their tandem bike.

We collected 23 pounds of food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA.
Pride Weekend was held August 26-28, 2016 in Erie PA. The weekend began with a Pride Kick-Off Drag Show held at the Zone Dance Club, 133 W 18th St, Erie PA. Performers at the drag show were Michelle Michaels, Misty Michaels Kall, Lovin Heart, Jill Jameson and Vicky Bendme.
Saturday began with the March to Pridefest organized by NW PA Pride Alliance. The step off was at the Zone Dance Club. Parade units included NW PA Pride Alliance, Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, Temple Anshe Hesed, LBT Women of Erie, Erie Democratic Coordinated Campaign, General Electric Transportation GLBTA Alliance, Ladyfest Erie, Northwestern High School GSA, Eerie Roller Girls, TransFamily of NWPA Transgender Support Group, and Community United Church. There were 152 people in the parade.
Media coverage included Erie Times News, both local TV news crews, and .MIC from NYC.
NW PA Pride Alliance also organized Pridefest, which was held in Griswold Park after the parade. Over 370 people attended Pridefest. The keynote speaker was Erie County Councilmember Jay Breneman. Performers for Pridefest included drag performers Michelle Michaels, Misty Michaels Kall, Jill Jameson and musical acts Populi, Honest Mistakes and Billy Wynn,
GEAE sponsored a tent at Pridefest for HIV, Hep C and syphilis testing that was performed by Erie County Department of Health and Community Health Net.
