We must understand that sadness is an ocean, and sometimes we drown, while other days we are forced to swim.

Every day here you come walking
I hold my tongue, I don't do much talking
You say you're happy and you're doin' fine
Well, go ahead, baby, I got plenty of time
Because sad eyes never lie
Because sad eyes never lie
Well, for a while I've been watching you steady
Ain't gonna move 'til you're good and ready
You show up and then you shy away
But I know pretty soon you'll be walkin' this way
Because sad eyes never lie
'Cause sad eyes never lie
Hi my friends! It was a long time ago when I posted my last photo here. And I missed you!
Today I felt I should come back and say hi. It is a sad moment for us here in Oregon. Wildfires are devouring part of our beloved Columbia River Gorge and that is heartbreaking. The air in Portland is unhealthy and a lot of people in the Gorge are impacted.
So I decided to post this photo from last year when I was there enjoying Fall colors in one of my favorite areas of the world.
I hope this ends soon. Praying for raining and for the people fighting the fire.
Coming back to me I haven't used my camera in months! There were some reasons and it is a long story but I hope I can come back. I'm really missing photography, part of my soul feels empty without it. Next Saturday I will be taking senior photos of a Friend's son so I hope that helps me to come back.
During this time off I was working out a lot, running several races (5k, 10k) in order to feel stronger because I'm 40 now! :-)
Well I will be visiting your photos to catching up a little.
See you soon.

I also included my entry written with this photo originally from my old Flickr account.

Rest in Peace, Sad Dragonfly.
>For those of you who do not know much about dragonflies here is my "Sad Dragonfly" story from today & a few facts. ♥ I love dragonflies... & well, bugs!
>When I found him he was struggling, sad, & broken.. literally.
He had just gotten in a fight with another male dragonfly, probably over a mate or lunch. When male dragonflies fight usually it is until the death, they grab the other's wings & twist - & rip them off.
>Dragonflies have 6 legs, but they cannot walk. They can only fly or land. Strange. However, when dragonflies fight & lose- they can no longer survive.
I found "The Sad Dragonfly" today in my field. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with him, and then I saw his wings had been torn. He couldn't walk, so he was just kind of flapping his wings & not moving very far. Then I remembered that dragonflies cannot walk, and I felt the need to step in.
When I see an insect suffering/dying typically I move it to a safe place, that way it is not put through any more pain. [I can't imagine leaving an insect on the ground helpless to be eaten alive by ants or a bird.. Even if that is Mother Nature's way- not when I can help it.]
So I brought him inside, I fed him insects & tonight he died.
He had so much energy- you'd think he would be fine, but he knew he couldn't go on & he let go.
As if a pandemic were not enough, a mad ruler starts another war, sending not only the attacked country but also his own to ruin. Unbelievably sad times.
Forsythia is pure joy. There is not an ounce, not a glimmer of sadness or even knowledge in forsythia. Pure, undiluted, untouched joy. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
The WNYP has definitely changed the past few years, and not really for the better in my opinion. Here is the Farmer's Valley job passing under the PL bridge at North Eldred with a newer pair of GP15s. Sad to see everything south of Port Allegany a ghost town. 10/15/25

As I was walking through the Herb Garden at the Los Angeles County Arboretum this morning, I sensed something, turned and saw this Coyote. We made eye contact, she ( I believe this was a female) did not leave, even though I was probably only 20ft away. I moved a little closer - she did not flinch. This was a different experience for me. This Coyote had no desire to leave.
She looked worn out, and sad - no energy left it seemed. Not sure if this was "Gimpy" seen by Lou, but as she eventually walked away (very slowly) she did seem to have a limp.
