"Die Berliner Orgelbauwerkstatt Karl Schuke erstellte 1962/63 einen Orgelneubau mit 63 klingenden Stimmen (Registern) in der 1961 im Dezember eingeweihten neuen Kirche, deren Architekt Egon Eiermann sich auch nachdrücklich mit der Gestaltung der Orgel beschäftigte. So entstand ein klar nach Werken gegliederter Aufbau, der auf engem Raum eine gewisse Transparenz ermöglicht und dessen Anlage des Spieltisches auch die Handschrift Eiermanns trägt.
Die Orgel verfügt über eine mechanische Spieltraktur und eine elektrische Registertraktur mit einer Setzeranlage, die mehrfach dem aktuellsten technischen Stand angepasst worden ist.
Die Disposition stammt von Siegfried Reda, einem damals führenden Kirchenmusiker und Orgelsachverständigen aus dem Rheinland, dessen farbige, obertonreiche Disposition zeitgenössischen Komponisten Impulse für ihr Schaffen gab. 1985 wurden auf Anregung von KMD Lehning einige Milderungen vorgenommen, um dem sich veränderten Klangempfinden zu entsprechen und einer stilistischen Vielfalt der Interpretationen Rechnung zu tragen, gleichzeitig erfolgten akustische Verbesserungen im Kirchenraum.
Die hohe Beanspruchung, Materialermüdung und Umwelteinflüsse haben Spuren hinterlassen, teils sichtbar, sicherlich fühlbar, aber auch hörbar."
