Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is Infinity symbol. At first, I had a very difficult time to find an infinity symbol in my props… but then there was this elastic orange hair band laying on the floor in front of me. And since I’m lazy I wasn’t about to pick it up (especially that my house is a total mess right now because of our renovations) until I noticed that it was a perfect Infinity symbol ! Isn’t that great ? Of course, turning an orange elastic band into a levitating infinity symbol was another problem but I’m pretty much satisfied with the results. And I truly hope it will make you smile !!
Juste for your information: I have lots of things going on in my personal life right now and due to our renovations going super fast my « photo studio » (aka coffee table) and all my props had to take a vacation and all of my stuff is currently in my bathtub (yes, people !! The struggle is real, there is virtually no free space left in my house … event the bathtub is full of stuff !! And yes, we did put a cork in, just in case !!). So I’m will not be able to publish daily anymore (which makes me truly sad since I got truly attached to all your awesome comments, support and this amazing community…). For now, I will be officially on « vacation » from Flickr (but it isn’t by choice …). I will try to publish as soon as possible. Until then : stay well and safe my friends !!
Have a beautiful day !! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

Can you see the symbols of four basic mathematical operations in the middle of the image? I.e. ➕, ➖, ❌, ➗. You may need to unscramble. 😀

The Konark Sun Temple. An ancient architecture built in 13th century, was dedicated to God 'Sun'. With twelve pairs of gigantic sundials, ornamented chariots and classical arts, carved over the stone walls, its a cool place to recall Indian history. Also once was known as Black Pagoda to Europeans as the ships passing through near by used to experience destruction of their navigation systems because of humongous magnetic supports of the temple.
Simply its a perfect composition of engineering, astronomy and fine art !!!
I am so lucky to have two kids that absolutely adore each other. They are also very creative, so I did not even have to ask to make this love symbol for me. I love them dearly.
Le perce neige est le symbole d'espérance de jours meilleurs.
Sa couleur blanche évoque la pureté, l'innocence et la joie, mais aussi le raffinement et la perfection.
The snowdrop flower’s message is typically positive, signifying hope, rebirth and a bright future.
I was not going to post a entry for the ‘Infinity Symbol’ task on Smile on Saturday this week until just opening Flickr to check on the number of views that I had had overnight. There on my Flickr homepage was an example of the very same symbol, just staring me in my face, almost taunting me to say ‘Go on, if Flickr’s given you this example, then jolly well use it!’.
So here it is, a photo of a tiny section off my Flickr data page, tweaked a little to get the best results from the image. Very surprised that no one else has used it.
In a corner of Lisbon, in the neighbourhood of Mouraria, you’ll find the escadinhas de São Cristóvão, where an artist collective has created the impressive mural “Fado Vadio”. This inspired and original tribute to fado, Lisbon’s iconic music and classified as intangible cultural heritage, is one of the city’s must-see places. The symbols and figures from the history of fado have been portrayed over various walls. Fernando Maurício and Maria Severa, lyrics, bread and water on the table: these are just a few of the elements decorating this unique corner of Lisbon.

This seems most appropriate on Good Friday.

Back from my holidays in the wonderful North of France (Pays de la Loire to be precise!).
Being in the middle of nowhere meant I had the opportunity to take some photos of the Perseids and the Milky Way!
I've called the photo 'Heavenly Symbols' because, shooting stars, the Milky Way and (more obviously) the cross can have religious symbolism!
For me it was just a wonderful night under a sea of stars!!
Looking forward to catching up with all your photos over the last 2 weeks!

Helios 44M-7 at F2 plus a 2x teleconverter. I have photographed this wooden figurine before. As an object, its nature is trivial and some might call it kitsch. To me, it has its enigmatic fascination. It popped up right at the beginning, when I met the woman who would become my wife. Difficult to put into words what goes on inside. Associations like 'home', 'protection' and 'intimacy' well up. The totally unsubstantiated feeling, you know, that, 'in the end, everything will be alright'. Symbols work this way, signposts to a world that is (eventually) in order.
