It is amazing to see how these two shop fronts remained 'unmodernised' : they are almost perfect except for the uninspired replacement of the ironwork in front of Il Giardino. They must be contemporary to the church of St Luke's opposite.

Note the combination of yellow and red bricks used as a decorative element; the Victorians were great masters of bricklaying of extensive immagination and talent.
