Beautiful day on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail

Heute, am 22.03.2021, überführte DB 218 105 den SVT Bauart Leipzig von Delitzsch nach Hof. Hier durchfährt das seltene Gespann Gößnitz gen Werdau.

Today, on 22nd March 2021, a class 218 diesellocomotive of the former Bundesbahn transferred a historic diesel powered express railcar from Delitzsch to Hof. Here the curious train passes through Gößnitz towards Werdau.

Guessed: Ford Focus SVT

Like it, like the colour too. Maybe a guess for non-Europeans (Europeans are welcome to comment of course): what can this be?

The SVT-40 was a semi-automatic soviet rifle with a detachable 20 round magazine. When the Germans encountered it in 1941 they were fascinated and the G41 was developed as a consequense. The job of developing the G41 was given to Mauser and Walther ending up in two different rifles. Walther stepped away from the criterias Wehrmacht gave on teh rifle and developed a semi good semi-auto rifle which later was improved to the G43. However there is numerous photos of Germasn with the SVT-40, so at least up until 1944 when the G43 came in greater numbers was the SVT-40 looted and used by the Germans.

The conclusion: Not only the BA, but the real SVT-40 was seeked after.

One of four WWII-era Soviet weapons.

It can be seen at BrickFair Alabama (Jan 13-15), at the GI Brick and Brickmania tables. They are NOT for sale, and will NOT be given away there.

It is currently ONLY A PROTOTYPE, but I MAY include it as a special item in an upcoming WWII-themed BrickArms pack.
