I really liked the surface of the water in this one.

I hope that everyone has a magnificent Monday.

A Ring-billed gull takes off from the water to hunt for more fish.

It would circle around the shallows of the river, dive down. Surface and then repeat.

The snow lying on the frozen surface of the loch created some nice curves.

A huge slice of luck with this one; An inflatable space was being erected within the confines of Frobisher Crescent and as they battled the wind to position the inflatable structure I shot away at the shapes and forms within. I liked this one as it has enough to make it legible, yet leaves just a little something for the imagination- Surface Tension felt right for this one

Challenge finished: it is a sponge, captured with a 50mm pentax macro smc takumar plus an extension tube of 28mm.

We have a second storm move into Northern California and drenching the entire place with much needed rains.

Used a very brief break in the rains to get this shot in the backyard. I was trying to focus on that one drop that was hanging on with all the surface tension it could muster :-)

The USS Finback surfaces in the rolling hills of Central Texas, near Roundtop, hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean. Actually this a Drop Tank from a McDonnell F4 Phantom made to look like the US Submarine, USS Finback. It is yours for $3200.00.

The edges of ponds and small lakes provide vegetation that interacts seasonally with the water and its reflections...always a fun subject to meditate on.

Have a great Thursday :-)

Anhinga ~ (Anhinga anhinga)

With a few greedy wading birds hanging around, an Anhinga makes a few dramatic gestures with its fresh catch as to dissuade any potential thieves.

Thanks for visiting!

Something a bit different - a landscape of droplets on red plastic.

Had the (mis)fortune to be working on the plastic, prepping an art installation for Hobart's annual DARK MOFO. Rained pretty much the whole time and we were well over it by the end.

For this pic however, the sun came out for a few moments and the 'art' was hard to pass up!
